now, the one main problem i have here is, looking at this list of undeniable greats, look at their positions, why does the glory always go to attacking players? I can safely say these players would be nothing with out the teams behind them.
I know i'm bias by this due to the fact i generally play on the wing or as a full back when playing. but i must admit that its easier to rank people by the goals its scored and the assists they've made, rather than the tackles they've made and the passes they've completed. so i think we should all show our respect to the supporting cast to the goal scorers.
also, its not a bad list of some of the great attackers. some of the greats gone by would be nice to see too though

I dunno, a lot of defenders/midfielders get their fair share of credit: Makele and Terry at Chelsea, Ferdinand and Vidic at Man Utd, Viera at Arsenal, Carragher and Hypia at Liverpool.....the crunch guys still get a shout out every now and then.....just not as easy to make a video about them

i see where you're coming from and there have been some greats in defense, but in general it is alot easier to name a goalscorer, but i suppose most forwards love the attention and most defenders enjoy being the quiet workhorse, personality depicts position it seems?

Just watch the Ribery/Henry/Zizou video, take away the goals and it's still just as amazing to watch

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=xZXCq_1kXj8Played soccer growing up, mostly fullback, but stopped following soccer when I stopped playing. His save, 25 seconds into the clip, is the reason I started following soccer again.

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=He7oeo0DUw0Copa Libertadores semi final match 2 - Cerro Porteño vs Santos - Goal by Jonathan Fabbro, Cerro Porteño midfielder.
I saw this match on TV and felt I should find a video of the third C.P. team's goal, because that's one of those amazing goals.
This is why we call this sport FOOTball!
