I have been asked to post in here on behalf of Odji Nsu (and mini Odji) as Odji feels his banning/warning was unfair.

The following warning was issued to this user

This is as far as my involvement goes Ombudsman. I was briefed on what happened, that was it. My only further posts will be if Odji wishes to say something, however I won't be around for long.

FYI the warning was given BEFORE Earendil's colored warning in the thread:

On face value, I honestly don't believe the comment was bad enough to warrant a warning. However, I'm also aware that Odji Nsu has a history of pushing the line when it comes to abusive or insulting language - which may have been why Earendil came down especially hard on him this time.

Reserving judgement until I can speak to Earendil about the situation, and also hear Jack's opinion. Those are just my initial thoughts. Thanks to Clarkey for posting.

Yes, it is. That's what I meant to say, but obviously I somehow confused two completely opposing words. This is what happens when there are no complains for about a month.. I get out of practice.

If it was before the message was given in the thread to stop insulting then no rules were broken at all.

Word was filtered which is fine. Insults like that are generally not against forum rules or guidelines.

My opinion.

so whats the point iof even posting what u did if u can jst warn some one anyway?

Since the word was filtered I am of the opinion that it did not warrant a warning. One of the purposes of their being a filter in the first place...

Also, how do you know no-one else in Odji's thread got warned? Don't assume, it's not good.

Being abusive and insulting others has never been acceptable on this forum.

Looking at his past history, Odji obviously has not learned to not do it. Because he keeps on doing it. Maybe less vulgar now than before; but still abusive.

Look at his track record. Two warnings within 30 days is more than enough reason to ban him for two weeks IMHO. He has not come to realization that his posts have consequences.
