That is our 'purpose', if we have one at all. All must give way to progress, and the weak will perish before the strong.

That's what they called "Skynet".

Our purpose is to visit what's outside of Earth.

Fortunately.
This movie tells us what we humans, should not do. In this case, superior AI and cyber creatures being superior to humans.
Lessons can sometimes be taken from movies.

Humans are so damned inferior that creating a mouse would already be creating a superior being.

Also, this isn't a 'cyber creature'.. it's an articifial organism.

Inferior to what?

Humans managed to conquest the planet and do things that most other species didn't manage to. I don't consider it as inferior. Might be silly what we did, but not inferior.

Viruses did that long before we did.. how special does that make us, hm?

Viruses, as much as longstanding and efficient they can be, are still doing it by instinct. I don't think they have the ability to debate, think, laugh and other things like that. They are efficient creatures...in another way.

 Just because you don't understand the virus' society.. doesn't mean they don't have one. It might as well mean we're too damned inferior to understand their society.

(And most humans can't think, debate and 'other things like that'. Viruses laugh all the time. Ever looked at E. Coli? It's lolling its behind off.)

That's also speculation.

I don't see the point to lower humans as a whole down, considering it's what we all are.

And anyway...I didn't put this underlined part for nothing.

And most humans can't think, debate and 'other things like that'.

That, is a matter of perspective.

The future lies not with science but with art.
Pursuing Science to its ends will only lead to either un-fulfillment or destruction.
Pursuing Art leads only to joy and love.
People say science and intelligence is what sets us apart from the other inhabitants of the planet.
I would argue that our colossal range of emotions and ability to love sets us apart from anything else. We began evolving away from violence during the renascence and periods of art show our good side. When science takes over only violence follows.

Interesting perspective!

However, art has been more or less downfalling during the past 100 years in a general view. (well painting at least)

Correct, and we have a bigger capacity to kill millions of people than ever.

I'm sometimes wondering why did the vibes into painting moved from those wonderfully made paintings (Italian painters from XV-XVI-XVII centuries, painting during empires and absolute monarchies...and republics until early XXth century) to the horrendous crap generally observed from "contemporary geniuses" of painting during last 100 years.
I know I'm not really skilled into painting art, but I am sufficiently to notice that painting heroes of past > kids painting > recent "geniuses".

A lot of modern art is utter rubbish, but a lot of it has a deep meaning and soul.
But when i say Art i dont mean just paintings. I would put Music, drama, creative literature and even things like History and Philosophy.

The build up of technology has begun to ruin Music and the dramatic arts like film. Although I am a fan of technological music, i am not a fan or music that can be mass produced and that takes no skill to make.

Due to the educational swing towards the "Sciences" and the utility driven society, the general populous is pleased by simpler and simpler things. I shift is needed in the opposite direction to encourage people to think, analyze and create.

IQ does not matter, only your capacity to FEEL. Even the most idiot person can convey their emotions, even if it is not subtle. We should encourage people to do so.

I didn't mention "pop mu$ic" because I actually like it
However, I like old fashioned painting, creation and architecture.
