On a tip for the future...would it be possible for the mod moving a topic to let the author know where it has been moved to? just incase the author is not a member of the new location?

should be fairly simple and quick to do, and would save people coming asking these questions :p
*grin* You know just how much threads are moved? :P And how much time it takes to go and check if someone is a member of this or that usergroup. And when we inform the thread starter, wouldn't it be nice if a moderator would also inform major participants. And this bunch of people. And those.

No. People should learn to put their threads in the proper place. All the facilities are in place, and if someone wants to shut out a random part of the forum, that is their privilege. I don't see why we should go and keep check on who is a member of what section. :)

You do realise that Zeratul can still look in to it even if you remove yourself from the user group and therefore not lose any ground?

who said you had to check what groups they are in?

just a simple message "your message...xxxxx.....has been moved to ..xxxxx..." would suffice
