Loosing identity

What happened to "XxX"? He was such awesome player and brave masser! Oh well, he lost own identity...
We remember so many players who changed when they lost identity. Everyone starts the game, learns how to play. Few tryed the way of "statbuilding" and theyr account is than based on income and UP. Many liked the way of "farmer" more. With farming comes the problem "action/reaction".
Outcome: way os statbuilder vs. way of farmer
Here farmers can chose two different ways as well. To be a "0 defence farmer" and face weaker enemys, or to be "Farmer" and face bigger enemys.
Outcome: 0 defence farmer vs. farmer
Once farmer tryed to attack bigger players for resources, he finds out they are not giants and everyone can be massed. But "big players" dont liek to be farmed

And after testing this bigger players testing to farm an empire is so easy.
Outcome: Farmers becomes "Snipers" - because they are sat by so many allainces and empires

After few weeks, months... they are fas\cing many wars. Usualy these Farmers are creating allainces and are massing and farming together.
So why theyr loosing theyr identity? Why theyr joining empires? Why theyr wearing tags of alliances they used to farm?
We have so many examples. Players are fighting with "evil" they starts to talk via PMs, than on MSN, forums, TS. few nice words and they are in. And identity is lost. But Farmer is gone as well, cuse now he becames "random masser" or covard whos using alliance tag and empire name to advertise self, but honestly, barely he knows, hes just a looser who sold own sould, own identity.
Dear GW comunity, what do you think about warmongers, lone wolfe players, farmers or snipers joining alliances/empires they used to fight so much?
Author's note: A specific recruiting system of an empire is recruiting throught wars. They start war, destroy alliance and recruit fighters. There are many many other examples from past or today.

Just play the game as YOU see fit and don't reply with more hate than the other guy. Its pretty simple, wars don't change, people change.

Of course, and thats what i mean. Players fighting an alliance than joines them to loose theyr play style for ever. Weak minds are easy to manipulate... here we cant talk about "just play the game as you see fit". Cuse blinde ppl cant see how it fits them.

Isn't that what makes them an Empire in the first place?
If they were not recruiting new members from their former enemies' ranks they would not be an Empire but just a collection of alliances, wouldn't they?
Many call themselves an "Empire" but only few live it

As for "farmers" joining an Empire and loosing their identity - just keep in mind that many of the top 10 farmers became farmers while they were in an Empire

I do not talk about empires, i wanted to know everyone opinion on those players who are loosing own ideas, own styles, own alliances. PPl who were posting so much and were acting brave and strong, but than they joined enemy. Once they joined, those brave wariors aer no more.
Btw... who was talkign about farmers in top 10. Farming is the way how find new enemys, if you farm 100b or 100T daily is not the point. But how you act and how you change own identity once you join own enemy.

Nice post C2
These warriors that join their enemies do so because they seek power, if they lose against some alliance, that means that alliance is "better" thus they wanna join to be "better".
I myself do not wanna associate myself with one of these players as they are in it only for power, not for friendship. You can't be friends with someone whom you warred for X years (I'm not talking about individual members of a group but about group as a whole).
I'm in the game for friends, not for power, which means I'll stick by them no matter who offers me what.
All for one, one for all.

I personally never joined an enemy alliance after/during a war, and hopefully never will.

Actually, one of my former arch nemesis ingame became probably one of my better friends at one point.
So it is possible.
And for an empire to recruit enemies that fought well against them, so well that they earned the respect of their enemies, is not a bad idea at all.
On another note, overall, a very good thread C

What so many of you so frequently fail to realize is that not everybody else in the game shares all of your pretentious, romanticized and often incredibly stupid notions about how it should or shouldn't played. There are some people, believe it or not, who actually come here for fun; and sometimes it's fun to try something different.

I often make friends with people I war with.....infact that's where most of my friends come from. I joined Chris and Memento after we sabbed the heck out of each other the first fortnight we played....
I play this game like any other....whether it be Risk, Chess or Football - I play for fun and I play to win. But when all is said and done, this is just a game - I don't harbour grudges or hate people over it. Life is too short. I always chat with the people I'm fighting....ask Lith

As for joining Empires, well it is something I have never done. Curiousity got the better of me. I've always watched OE work from the outside, now I get a different perspective on the game. And I have found it is a community within a community - always a dozen or more people online chatting, and in a more friendly atmosphere than the main forums.
Have I lost my "identity"? I would ask whether I had one to begin with?
EDIT: And what Mordack said
