And is it any wonder new players give up?

A new player by the name of requiem949 has been playing for all of about two weeks. He has been trying really hard to grow and become active by doing lots of Raiding and the like.

Last night he hit a player in Dominium Ex Malus who has no defence etc and got some good raids on him. Requiem949 wouldn't know about the whole 'hit a player in the wrong alliance and you'll be sorry' jazz.

Now this morning Wrath of Achilles [ Dominium ex Malus - Descendz0r] has completely massed out his hard work of his entire playing time. A simple look at his ID would have revealed that he is very new, his small army size and being in 'Torchwood' an alliance for new players to learn the game and build should have reinforced that.

A simple message to a new player would have corrected the whole thing. He would know then to avoid this alliance and could possibly arrange reparations when he gets market status from his 1001 GnR which he was working so hard to get. Instead he will next log into his account and may very well leave the game.

I expect to be massed by this Wrath of Achilles [ Dominium ex Malus - Descendz0r] as well as I have dared to send a message to them pointing this out but then again, is it any wonder new players give up when this happens?

Wah, mistakes happen, for all you know he didn't know, another thing is being DDE we have alot of people who hit our alliance that are either snipers or multi's not that we can prove it, It sucks he got massed, but IMO we get hit we mass, I don't look at anything other then my logs

Sorry to him it sucks but now he knows, and just think 2 weeks is nothing to lose, and if that causes you to quit after two weeks, then you prob don't belong in GW anyways ;)

It is only two weeks yes, so not a lot by your standards but his whole GW career and all his efforts to him, and yes it is a War so to speak but what about a guy who is new and been working to simply grow and get somewhere before he gets into a war? Players of your size (for example) vs a player unascended and 10mil army is not exactly a war or even fair game. Plus the assumption of a sniper means they don't normally have a defence, etc nor belong to an alliance from what I have so far read.

The point is as well, in the past you had armies and soldiers that went to battle with about an hours training and well what happended to them? They were not around for long. The soldiers/players who last are those given the correct training and guidance and a bit of a chance to develop.

This is hardly a new development though....when I first started playing I annoyed someone on the forums with a bit of RP, and he sabbed me constantly for the first 2 weeks I played.....far from making me give up, it made me play almost obsessively until I could return the favour ;)

Perhaps some leeway should have been shown.....but equally fuall get hit all the time by ex-players starting a new account just to settle a few scores, etc.....where does the line get drawn?

The guy has been massed. Now the real question is: how will he respond? ;)

Hopefully it will make him more determined. Like when ~Sokar~ massed Model who is now more determined than ever.

He has dusted himself off and got back up. We have also talked to some DxM members about what happened etc and all good on that front. Thanks for some of the tips they have also provided us :)

Yeah, he is a very nice guy. :-) After all, he used to be one of your officers many moons ago. And you are sure right, it does go along way.
