WTH is going on???

First it was mangatoshokan and now onemanga. It appears that manga publishers have decide to oppose scanlations, thus these sites are removing their manga. WHY????? I think the industry has just shot itself in the foot with this action. Most of the stuff I read is either 1) only in japanese, thus I rely on the english trans to even read it, or 2) the ones that are in english are so hard to find, and so far behind the raws.
I'm really dissappointed in this. What are they going to do next, remove uploaded anime from sites like animeshippuden?

Yes.
It is currently under surveillance.
Pending a recommendation to remove that, as well.

I've never been very much into manga myself, but I do read a little bit occasionally. (For a while I was a typesetter in a scanlation group, until our translator vanished into IRL... 
) There'll always be someplace you can find scanlations online, even if it does become a harder.
For this very reason, I prefer to download manga whenever possible. I saw this coming a long time ago

Update, now onemanga is apparently shutting down altogether instead of just removing certain manga from certain publishers. :/ They say all the manga will be removed by the end of the week.
Too bad, guess I'll have to download copies of Sankarea elsewhere <_< And keep them on my HDD so they can't just vanish one day.

Yes, Onemanga shutting down their mangareader was utter sadness..
guess no more convenient reading, i will have to be looking up at all scanlation sites to get my manga fix...
and it really sucks even more since it will become harder to find new manga .. I mean I discovered so many on Onemanga over the past years .. SUCKS
