ok, how does this shared/ same ISP thing work.
I went to trade with my officer (JJ) that does have my old account, so not totally surprised I got that need excemption message.. but I then went to send to my CO instead (Captain Charisma) and got same message.. which was totally odd to me as
a) He lives in Ireland, I'm in Australia
b) I have never logged into his account nor he mine.
c) I'm only person at this address that plays game.
I've applied for an exemption for both JJ and CC2, just found it really strange.

Happens from time to time that it does give such a message while it shouldn't. An hiccup in the system

i know that my ISP gives me an IP address that will change from time to time, and as they are limited, it could be that (unlikely as it is) that person B used and old IP address of yours, or that you used an old one of his
there are about 4 billion of these IP addresses, so its quite unlikely

The -only- logical conclusion -based on the above 3 facts- is that your new account (you bought one, yes? if not, just ignore me) was used by someone sharing CC's IP.
It'll work once admin clears the issue. (Obviously.)

The system never fails. It's the people who fail to grasp the system. Either by willful omission, by unawareness, or by missing the point.

That would be my assumption to. Maybe ask the original owner and any before that if you know of them or if there were any.

Oh, that is going to be a drag if it's an account that's gone through a few owners..

Still, it's a good idea.

well it was Harch's originally.. it went through 2 others before I got it all with in a week and as far as I know CC2 is the only one at his address that plays.

Maybe the previous owners used a mobile phone to access it also, or maybe you have.... that increases the chances of sharing IPs.
Basically the only way to fix it is to email :
support@gatewars.comAnything else is just speculation.

Filter works on a few levels.
If person A has -in chronological order- accounts A.1, A.2 and A.3; person B has accounts B.1, B.2 and B.3; and person C bought account A.2, sold that one and bought account B.1, accounts A.1-3 and B.1-3 will have the 'IP match' flag.
It can get .. complicated.

You have a dynamic IP (I can tell). That gives you about 100 different IP's used over the past 2 years alone. It is not that odd for your IP to be .. recycled. And that's just the forum.

I'd imagine the game's records are even more substantial.
It takes just one match to disallow any trading between accounts. An exemption ignores all matching IP's (while still recording them, of course), to allow 2 accounts to trade regardless of their flag. It should fix your issue. And admin is over-generous with exemptions anyway.. so I'm sure it'll be arranged in due time.

At least it's just IPs, not accounts, eh.

Anyway.

Femme, has your question been answered enough? (I think some 5 times in this thread..)
