Infact very little is "necessary" in this game. But are they a positive addition? To that, I answer yes.

Yes and no, I'd prefer empires. The game has enough bonuses already, though the alliance repair/ppt/bank increase functions are nice..

No but they are bringing back more politics and possibly more wars. I do think they made the game a little bit more interesting.

Just look at the tactic oe used in the tpp thread, i think it adds a new element to the game.

I find them more restrictive, cant hit this person or that person now because they are same house.

The question isn't really effective. There is not much in this game that is necessary. So my answer is no.

Whether something is necessary is different to whether people want it.

Thats where politics come in...If an alliance has a good farm based membership then i suggest you make a plan to rule the house and boot them...
