Watched this last night and as a medevil adventure it was a very enjoyable movie

The good stuff

1) Few nice fight scenes, always good to see Brits giving the French a good kicking
2) Good storyline, nice little twist
3) Decent acting & script, even the accents werent to bad
4) Lots of fun if you dont take it seriously
5) Russell Crowe, always enjoy his films

The down side

1) This is NOT the Robin Hood story.
2) All the silly stuff like being able to ride on horseback from Nottingham to Dover in a few mins, made up invasion, an archer who suddenly becomes a swordsman, Lady of the Manor suddenly appearing in suit of armor, Kings, Barons who hate the King and peasants all having a chat & riding together.
3) The lack of anything in Sherwood Forest, common people defying government by living there or using the forest to overcome the odds.
4) Very little done by Robins Hoods men.
5) No fights with the Sheriff of Nottingham or in Nottingham castle, much as I hate Costner, Alan Rickman was the perfect Sheriff, the Sheriff in this version was just a bit part buffoon.
6) Seems to be left open for a sequel, Please Russell dont do it

Well I never said the accents were good, just not to bad, as in they weren't bad enough to spoil the movie and for a Hollywood movie they were better than I expected.

But yeah, basically a good fun film if you try to forget that it's meant to be Robin Hood, I'd say the best thing about it is NO Costner bad acting and NO Brian Adams songs in it

just watcher a clip on u tube and realised that the battle scene at dover only needed germans and machine guns and it would be identical to the normandy sea landings in saving privorate ryan the boats are almost identical lol

True, the landing craft looked very familiar, like the start of Saving Private Ryan in wood

Are you speaking of this recent fail of a movie?

It was Gladiator, with less action. Thus, fail.

I finally had the chance to watch this movie. Id say it is very well made. In my opinion, it is even better then gladiator. Simply because of the length compared to gladiator.. more to enjoy = better.

Decent entertainment... We'd thought it'd be another version of the regular robin hood storyline, but it wasn't... we did not mind that...

The lack of hold historically seen is not that important. It is not meant to be a lesson in history.
well worth watching if ya want a decent evening's entertainment...

When looking at the archer to swordsman conversion, we'd say that wasnt as extreme as it could've been. They had been away a decade, and archers will sometimes have to fight with blade as well as bow, so the theory of swordsmanship is not unlikely to have been known to the "hero"...

It did smell of having a buildup for an sequel goal...
