MS assult attack

Okay, there is talk of the update to motherships being distasteful and favourable to a certain group of players. I propose a new form of attack being introduced where only motherships engage. However, this should come at a cost.

Cost of turns: 15 always.
Defence and strike action are irrelevant.
Has a seperate phase to defences that means the defending motherships goes activates a cloaking device to hide it from any enemies and to return to its dock from orbit around the home planet.

Any thoughts?

Search for previous MS suggestions, this is similar to my own about MS missions where one mission would be to seek combat with enemy MS, another mission is to support ground attack, and another was to support ground def, but only one mission at a time since MS can only be in one place at a time.

Wont happen, most if not all the biggest MSs are $$$$ built, and admin dont want to upset $$$$ spenders by restricting their MS usage.

Sorry, i was too lazy to search :)

Anyway, i don't see how it would restrict the $$ spenders from flexing their ships. It would mean they could reduce an enemies ship whilst not phasing their defence, so that they can attack the defence with their full strike plus ms boost, resulting in a cheaper massing aswell?

My own version with MS Missions also suggested a time limit of 12 or 24 hours to change mission, after all this game is meant to be based on StarGate where gate travel is near instantaneous, and traveling by ship takes time :smt047

I think the mission settings I suggested before were

1) Explore
2) Ship to Ship Combat
3) Assign to protect planet
4) Conquer planet
5) Support Ground def
6) Support Ground assault

Also suggested

1) Adding Reactors to MSs, so you have to build enough reactor bays, and reactors to power the weapons/sheilds

2) Fuel limits to stop one big MS doing all the fighting for an entire alliance by limiting the attacks it could make in 24 hours

3) Removing MS Techs, and update that disproportionately gives far more to the MS already biggest in the game for little cost ( actually that one was suggested my many many people, it was a terrible update to start with )

I agree. Bigger ones, say 200k, get 60k extra slots. Smaller ones, say 50k, get 15K extra slots. Both for the same cost. Yet the larger one gets a bonus equal to the total size of the smaller one (almost)
