Evening folks, I have been having trouble renaming a planet.. I explored with MS and found it, but the name is "- Whitney" and whenever I attempt to change the name, I get the message to use only simple text with no "funk".

Can anything be done about this?

Funk means anything that isn't a character or a number. Not sure if dashes come under this banner though.

So, if your trying to call it say CSA's Planet, then the ' character isn't valid for planet naming.

I am just trying to name it "Luna" with no funk, nothing but those 4 letters. The planet is already named "- Whitney" and whenever I try to change it I get the error message as if it read the original name, saw the invalid character, then rejected my change even though it was legal..

it could be that you haven't had the planet for 24hours yet,

i know it says no funk, but thats what happened to me as well, just wait 24 hours and you should be able to rename it.

Thanks Rocky, I was able to change the name after capturing another planet. Still an unusual bug though, because generally I can change the name of planets my MS finds immediately after it is found.

perhaps it was abandoned by someone that recently took it from someone else and so there was i 24 hour wait
