covert powers

ok -the att/def divide by a billion if needed, is pretty straight forward.
but the square rooting of the cov and anti-covert is more controversial.
it solves the big number problem.
and - i think - it makes it a more competitive stat.
and more dangerous

thoughts?

seems a little bit of a weird idea.
Ran some numbers from what you put for this..
These are using my current powers and assuming all factors at same cov and same techs same race..
166,164,586,696,920,108,781,250 old 7m
Covert 407,632,906,788 new 7m
83,082,293,348,460,054,390,625 old 3.5m
Covert 288,239,992,625 new 3.5m
20,764,810,000,000,000,000,000 old 1.75m
Covert 203,816,453,394 new 1.75m
5,192,607,570,062,500,000,000 old 875k
Covert 144,119,996,312 new 875k
So 875k spies is half as effective as 3.5m spies under new formulas
if someone is on crit that adds 70% effective covert power making it 245,003,993,730 which is same power as 2.625m spies effective
so to sab someone at the same levels as you on crit you have to send 3x as many spies as they have?
gets greater and greater as numbers go bigger?
9m spies to sab 3m spies on crit?
I guess it doesn't make that much difference when realm alert levels are not involved since stats are the same
assuming that if I have 1.75m spies trained and I send 875k that its effective power is the amount that it would be if I only had 875k trained not half of the power of 1.75m?
means though that to protect your weapons you have to leave more and more spies trained at a drastically reductive rate of effectiveness to protect.
meaning the more you want to protect your weps the more spies you have the more you have to lose

yeah I can confirm this...had 2mil spies trained, trained another 2mil expecting the power to double, and it didn't even add half again
and assuming your numbers are correct, all you need to do is stay within 1/3rd of top army, have same covert level, then you can actually be unsabbable when using nox/critical

Thing is that doesn't make you unstoppable.. simply makes your spies at super risk too though.
anyones defense can be massed.
AC is twice as powerful as Cov so still requires 1.5x the number trained in cov if on crit
just means that sabbing the people who like to sit on crit is useless
and anyone who wants to stay on normal and make income is much more easily sabbed.
esp since a succesful sab is 10% of total weps destroyed
I guess it doesn't make it any easier to sab then normal.
just gives significant covert advantage to those that dont care about their income.

okay im having trouble with numbers lately so can one of the math wizzes can tell me if im wrong here but it sounds like
if i have level 20 covert and 1 mil spies trained first the more spies i train the less they increase my covert
second if someone with level 20 covert and 1 mil spies comes along and decides to sab me they would actualy need LESS then 1 mil spies to do it?
like i said im realy crappy with numbers lately so im more then likely wrong. and also before if someone was like level 21 covert you could still equal there covert # by just have double the spies. so now it would take even more?

yeah and because you have no way of working out individuals coverts techs, it becomes pot luck if you can sab as well
(yes I know you can workout top tech, but unless i've missed something, I can't work out individuals).

You can..
Require Acing them
it tells you have much power remaining after AC
So you then take the Ac factors into account, and you can figure out what their covert power is, after this you can then find their tech lvl, by knowing their lvl, the number of spies, and their covert power.

Seems it's changed now to show both techs and covert power.

spying now gives power cell techs; covert and anti-covert action;
you can also use a quick form on sab/spy to get your covert power with xxx units sent...
realm alert level max is now 40% --down from 70% ...
amazing what needs to be done to balance a change!

test covert level doesnt seem to work, it just ends up sending 1 spy to sab/spy
