proof that General Smedley Butler knew what he was talking about when he claimed that "War Is a Racket".
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=te6dCsTY ... re=relatedwhat the hell are we doing looking for minerals when we are there supposedly to "get Osama Bin Laden"?!?!
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=dR3EZq1TKU8"get Osama Bin Laden"...yeah right!
http://www.reuters.com/article/idUSN2435638420070924i think that plane took off with the wrong passenger..i mean cargo on-board lol
War is indeed a racket and has zero to do with "terror" or tyrants of any kind otherwise we would be attacking different targets.

You had any doubt about the motives? Are there any? I remember that a few days after 9/11 Osama's family was flown from the US in fear of "repercussions". There's money and influence to be made from this!

Whatever USA are doing there (the whole opium thing burn few leave the rest isn't really new..it's the whole "if you burn this what will we do after to survive, if you burn this we will all revolt against you and beg talibans to come back", and I doubt they can grow coffee there..), my country is involved too and I support 100% my country's troops being there.

lol Jim, all the allied forces have to do to win the people and get the Afghans themselves to burn the fields is, give them food and invest in their industry and build their economy up so they have jobs to earn a living and feed themselves...
but thats to hard to do and btw, all our secret services will loose the money for their black ops which comes from drug running.
supporting the troops is all well and good, but not when they are dying while doing the bidding of the corporations. and just for the record, i think its the Chinese who got the contracts to mine the Lithium...how generous of the west seeing how many Chinese are fighting this war of terror...sorry, war on terror.
edit, and just who the hell cares what the Afghans think of the west, they are growing drugs and those drugs are being sold to our fellow citizens...i say burn their fracking fields and shoot them if they try anything...but will they do that?! you have more chance of swimming down and dragging up the Titanic on your own before they do that for reasons stated above and by Smedley Butler.

Avenger is at the forefront of military strategy.
Obviously destroying the income and coercing changes in habituals and agriculture through force will work wonders in pacifying a population we are currently operating amongst.
It's brilliant, i can't believe it's never been tried before.

2ndly, you don't see anything wrong with us paying Afghan farmers to grow poppy crops instead of food, which is then sold all over the world feeding crime and making addicts out of people? Air America ring any bells mate?
methinks you have your priorities a tad mixed up.

After what I saw on tv yesterday (the documentary reviewed below), I'm starting to regret we went there with our armies to save them from talibans (or whatever you think we went there for).
And no this documentary wasn't about drugs, conspiracy, CIA, Bin Laden or whatever...

![[078.gif] :smt078](./images/smilies/078.gif)
I suspected this existed, but not as far as this documentary revealed.

That thing, it's not bullets or tanks which could stop it..well unless coalition forced afghani gov to apply their own laws (because of course, this practice is forbidden by afghani law, but as many important personalities police officers included are involved, nobody prevents it)

i lack the appropriate words to describe my disgust...so all i'll say is, that is sad
as far as your post goes Jim, there are MANY things that were forbidden by the Taliban, such as growing poppies.
do you have a link to the documentary?

Boy rape is not common among the people their. That problem is a global issue.
If i remeber correctly small boys were also being smuggled into France from orphanages in the ex soviet block for the same kind of thing back in the 80's so POPS should learn more before he starts painting everyone with the same brush.
Anyway, There has been an increased pressure on Poppy farmers to sell their crop to pharmiceutical companies for the production of things like morphine, oxycodon and other opiods; for medical use.
So I'm not sure what Avenger means by "we are paying them". Nato governments are not subsidizing any of the poppy crops.
We are sudsidizing things like wheat because the basic fact is that you will earn about 10 times more on a KG of Poppys compared to Wheat. The practise of Poppy growing is not looked on fondly by the population but is accepted due to reality of severe poverty in that region of the world. This is also why Nato looks the other way aswell. A person who earns enough to care of his family is not someone you will be shooting rockets at troops... it's really that simple.

It's funny, I've never ever heard about it.

(I've heard about various things related to paedophilia that happend, but never heard about this one, I suppose that falls in the category of "I'm from another continent and know more about your own country than yourself?")
Probably a hoax-made up thing like the babies soups in China?

There's been thousands of those rumours in almost every nation of this world. Doesn't mean they are accurate.

Not that i'm saying other countries are innocent of it either, but you cant simply say it didnt happen theres public court records & old papers on file that covered the stories.
Prostitutes traffic from eastern europe and rest of the world obviously, even orphans traffic for adoptions, but for something like Afghanistan, no. We don't need this, because obviously the relations men-women aren't the same in Europe as it's in Afghanistan. (I'm not talking about the controversy around christian catholic church, where some cases of paedophilia happend)
Jim's Frog soceity
Why did you feel the need to bring ignorance into the debate?
As for the link you provided, I'm sure I could find examples of canadian politicians involved in something like this. But you do realize it happend in Thailand? While Afghanistan issues happen in...Afghanistan?

Prostitutes traffic from eastern europe and rest of the world obviously
Epic fail for you.

Now of course I could go and search about Canada...BUT..wasn't this thread about Afghanistan mr moderator thread derailer?
