Feeding, feeders, and the fed.

Starve them.
Now this is just the start of an idea, and I'm sure the brain trusts will come together and pick it apart.
But hopefully in that process they will have solutions on how to implement a successful answer.

The force that drives feeders, is naquada.
What if we had NO naquada?
What would the feeders feed the fed?
Power could be built through combat experience.
Combat experience is gained via well a....combat... so this forces game play.
Points based off of rank... so its beneficial to battle the top dogs for more points.
That way the weak are worth less, thus feeders would be worth less and kept some what in check.

This is just a basic beginning of an idea.
I am hoping that people will be able to input their two cents and together we can all get along.

if based off combat exp... then someone builds up an account just to be massed, either by selling off their defense, so their spies can be killed, or using their strike, and massing the guy while he's online and able to repair so it's alot of failed attempts.

If there is a point scoring system there is a way to break it. or beat it or corrupt it.

how about scaling the naq you can take? if the account is over 10000 ranks below you or something you only can steal 50% of their current available naq... That way anyone over rank 1000 can't hit anyone under rank 11000 for the full amount of naq they have out.

or something like that...

Yeah, the idea of no naquadah is very interesting, just needs to be thought out a little more.

I tend to agree with DD on this one, if we can figure a new method for advancement in Q, it would revolutionize the game for future Eras, differentiate this server even more, and at least for now make it harder to advance using our biggest 'grey' area and most commonly debated pet peeve go away.

You guys are all usually full of ideas, this is one that maybe is ready to go to the next level?? :-k

I'm not sure if I'd like an era without naq,

However, You could always use worshipping, have naquadah being replaced with "favour". (it could still be called naquadah - change it's definition to favor instead of currency)
ie UP creates worshippers instead of miners
You can't steal favour from another player, but you can kill or convert their worshippers.

-require a special unit to kill worshippers (30% max that one player can kill of an opponents worshippers in a 24 hr period? Must kill defence first, cov def levels effect the % that can be killed)

-limit conversion to only a small % (max 10% of army size?). In order to convert you must need to be able to defeat their defence and have an equal or higher ascension level.

You can go further and instead of choosing your race, you worship amongst the 4 types of races.
Each race provides a different bonus.

Allow for a mix between worshipping for the whole era.

Allocate all worshippers to Goa'uld and receive 20% favor bonus
Allocate all worshippers to Asgard and receive 20% defence bonus
Allocate all worshippers to Tauri and receive 20% attack bonus
Allocate all worshippers to Replicator and receive 20% covert bonus
*(another 2% bonus for all worshippers supporting the one race)


OR allocate 25% of worshippers to G, receive 5% Favour Bonus
50% of worshippers to A, receive 10% Defence Bonus
15% of worshippers to T, receive 3% Attack Bonus
10% of worshippers to R, receive 2% Covert bonus

Should cost favor to untrain worshippers. This cost increases with ascension levels.

UU provides 50% less favor than a Worshipper and doesn't count towards the race bonus.

ME would probably be needed to keep people attacking each other and keep it from a pure stat building exercise. (Keep sabbing in or out of ME?)

Add in ascensions and it would make for an interesting era.
Ability to choose which Race you want to ascend with, adds a 1.05 multiplier to that races bonus per ascension.
