PPT in perg possible now?

One player raided me in perg an hour ago, and is now under PPT in perg.
PPT is not available in perg. The player cannot go to main after raiding me and returned in less than 24 hours either based on the perg 24 hours limit.
Unless, the player has bought upgrades and get PPT. Other than that, any explanation? Thanks

Does the alliance ppt work in perg? If so that's a possible explanation. Or if the PPT you get from BM that could also be the reason.

Well, he is not in any alliance...and dont think he ascended either as his stats does not change much. I guess, it must have been the black market then, not any new loophole or bug.
Thanks, guys for the feedback

DR and Jason are right, but there is also another I have seen, buying one of the SS packages.
So the 4 ways are
1. Alliance PPT (most common)
2. Ascending (why is anyone's guess)
3. Buying an upgrade (either SS or USS)
4. Black market (for a quick rebuild I spose)

-- If the account minus weapons and mothership is worth ascending, or worth PPT at the cost of units... you could theoretically direct send your stuff to a friend in perg, (I think)...
either someone online, or someone whose defense can protect what you've sent them...
3. Buying an upgrade (either SS or USS)
-- I thought this one was not possible... but I could be mistaken...
4. Black market (for a quick rebuild I spose)
-- Or just because they wanted to boost their mothership slots with naq?
-- Dubby's commentary...
