The following is a warning which has been issued to you by an administrator or moderator of this site.
Quote:
This is a warning regarding the following post made by you: viewtopic.php?f=101&p=2184862#p2184862
"that is continuing this BS"
Section 5: Language
b. Profanity
The use of profanity on the SGW forums is prohibited at all times. This means swearing, cursing and vulgarity. This includes the use of masking. SGW is a family orientated game and as such the language used must be suitable for children.
Consequence:
The offending user will be given one warning point.

i got warned for using "BS" because when i saw my post after this warning, the work BS was replaced with **Filtered**.
I dont see how this is profanity..
Secondly, a post before me, Gunz used BS and he never got warned.
his message before mine "This forum seriously needs a BS detector ."
If i can get warned (which shouldnt happen, why doesnt he when his post is before mine..?)
I see no point in this warning unless i am seriously misunderstanding something empy. Please do explain.
further more, Jedi tanks post of "*sighs*" is complete spam but he does not get a warning, at all. when onthe otherhand i got a warning for spamming few weeks ago right away.
I would also like to add BS = useless facts. THis is common knowledge.. You consider saying Bull **Filtered** a profanity? if its not a profanity then who cares if i use the abbreviated form or not.
I want an apology, you **Filtered**.
To Mordack: Mordack I am still waiting for your reply for my PM regarding other post in this section. its been 2 weeks ++, Please PM me about this.
To Jack: dont close this thread until it is truly finished. I need to understand whats wrong with my comment and why its a big enough deal to get warned for when others before me have not been warned for it. I dont need you to tell me that "its agisnt the rules according to me, Good by end of story, **thread locked**". Please Do understand this.
Lastly, clarification is needed as to why empy is modding in the general section when he is clearly the mod of the market section according to his sig.

Don't really live up to your name do you KnowLedge.
BS may not just be considered profanity by some people but it is also masking.
The admins decided to go down the route of changing such abbreviations like WTH, STHU and GTHO, as you can see they have the letter 'H' in. I actually typed the letter 'F'. It was obviously seen as masking and therefore was placed on the filter list to change it as they were so commonly used.
BS is no different from that. It is masking a word on the filter. You break a rule you get punished.
Sad fact is that Gunz post was reported as well as yours, Gunz report was closed and left untouched, yours was left open. Later yours was dealt with. Gunz was reopened and to this minute remains open awaiting action.
But BS does contain a word on the filter list, so why are you complaining when you clearly broke a rule?

When debating the filtering of acronyms, the admins said that they are only filtered and that people wouldn't get warned for using them.

I see, shame that he used an abbreviation that was not part of that.
Although I don't see any difference between BS and S*** we all know what they both mean. he could have easily just used the word Bull. Means the same thing, no need for **Filtered** on the end.

Knowledge, I don't know you well enough to apply this to you,
only to apply this to people who are concerned about why they got warned... and / or often getting warned...
People who... um, consistently bend or break the rules here,
have a better chance of getting warned.
it also helps if you don't anger the staff unnecessarily...
swearing at them a lot ingame, (regardless of your manners on the boards), would likely get you on their bad side.
bad attitude, bad manners, lack of respect for other players, (let alone staff),
also likely to get you on a list of people who aren't allowed to get away with anything... regardless of whether or not you have actually broken rules...
(same with all my years of schooling and work)
Sometimes I agree with the end result, and sometimes I disagree, even strongly...
but it is what it is.

Using abbreviations is not masking nor is it considered against the rules.
Some abbreviations are filtered though and will be replaced by a more "innocent" version.

So we can say SOB then.

As long as an abbreviation is not used as an insult or in a derogatory way, it does not warrant a warning.
If you called someone SOB you will be warned though as it is an insult. Telling someone that their arguments are BS and they need to STHU won't get you a warning.

Admins make the rules and they're the ones who changed the other abbreviations to other words via the filter. Simply assumed they had a reason for it.

Not necessarily since she is not the only Admin, but I don't see why she would say it if they don't all agree so I'm sure it will be removed.

are you guys overly sensitive?
firstly, it is only masking if its a "bad word". The content in which i used the word "BS" was so that it means "useless, or unimportent". DO you understnad this?
now BS is not a "bad word" therefore its not masking. ALSO the mod did not say he warned me for masking, did he? he warned me for saying a "bad word"
ALSO Read this: the user above me also said BS in that thread.. and he is still not warned and the statement is still there. even after 3 admins have read my msg. Have you guys even read it or just skimming it? read the god dammed original post and make a **Filtered** statement.. IS using "BS" a profanity. IF so, then why does the msg above mine still is untouched in that thread?..
drop this warning and ill leave it be, Or else ill stretch it and theres nothing u can do about it but to watch yourself get insulted.

oh and please do remember my apology, you **Filtered**.

"Masking" is in the rule I quoted, there is an a rule that just says "Masking" so one must use the Profanity rule. BS is short for **Filtered** which is on the filter, therefore saying BS means **Filtered** but it's not filtered, which would mean saying BS is bypassing the filter aka masking.
KnowLedge wrote:ALSO Read this: the user above me also said BS in that thread.. and he is still not warned and the statement is still there. even after 3 admins have read my msg. Have you guys even read it or just skimming it?
It is 100% irrelevant to the warning you were issued that his post remains untouched by any Mod. 100%. It does not matter at all. Simply prove whether or not your post broke the rule which it was said it did.
Deni has posted and said that BS meaning **Filtered** (on the filter) is not masking, therefore your warning will most likely be removed. So pretty much your post, and mine, are pointless.
