New weapons/new weapon techs

I think the current weapons have been there for a while, and being able to buy stronger/newer would make a bit of a fresh move to the game.
However, point isn't to copy the sgw unascended races weapon names but have new idea for names (and strength?) based on each races' weapons.
I cannot think right now of names so I made this thread if anyone has an idea about new weapons names?
(made thread after discussing on admin meeting)

something like:

tollen - the tech that lets them send bombs through walls and stuff

ori- the fires that the main god lives in ??

ancient- the disobediant ascended's (lol like ones who kick some ass :P )( in weapon form )

nano t master- an armada of replicator ships

system lord- anubis class batalion of ships ?


but who knows :D , and make them even more powerful :D muahuaha

What will new weapons actually achieve? They'll last longer in battle and they have a higher power but if everyone has the same techs then it doesn't really achieve much a Tauri strike is still equal to an Asgard defence it's just the power reading is higher and the weapons last longer.

I personally feel time that would be spent thinking up new names for weapons would be better spent thinking of updates that will improve the server in terms of warring ability and such

I'm just getting bored of those weak weapons..the idea of weapons upgrade keep going would be good for people to have something to spend. As afterall admin does updates, we do the suggestions, so it will not really change something for admin if we think about it, and thus I don't see what's wrong with this!

@Guild, you mean some sort of "ascension" techs? As those seem excepted oris, ascended forms of unascended origins races.

hmm sounds alright, but with a lot of things, it has to be controlled, it has to not favor one side of something too much (alliances, snipers etc).

Problem is, he makes stronger weapons, it then makes sabbing useless again....

Again? I don't recall sabbing ever being effective on this server :lol:

how about we get a tech that you have to renew, every so often . that is specific to the race ?

not sure what but it would make customising your account more.......well more

You could use this concept I developed for main, but most people rejected, cause they didn't like the idea of variety on accounts #-o

I have to ask, since no one else dares to.
Are any of the changes suggested, except for the bug fixes, taken in consideration and applied?
So far, all of the suggestions I've looked through are not in the game, even older ones.

Players just will not accept for their way of gaming to be altered in something more difficult. They are content in playing a simple game where all they worry about is training troops and getting weapons.

I talked with admin on IRC admin meeting about potential weapons update, and he asked if someone could post a thread about it, thus, I did this thread. :)

I think if new weapons are to be released it should be 2 tiers of weapons at the same time both slightly more powerful and longer lasting than current weapons but with a balance to them.

The first tier lasts longer but isn't as strong.
The second tier hits harder but doesn't last as long.

That way you'll get players having more of a balance to their defences and attacks because they don't have one simple choice of weapon they have to think about what they want it for.
