USA Mini Meets

As some of you know, I'm going on holiday to USA in November and early December this year.

While the purpose of my trip is to travel around and see the sights and stuff, I'm also happy to meet anyone who may be in the vicinity of where I will be. :)

Now the list of cities that I'm going to is thus and I can provide dates if peoples require but would prefer to do that if anyone expresses an interest.

San Francisco
Los Angeles*
Las Vegas
Orlando
Raleigh
Washington DC
New York
Buffalo
Chicago

*I'll be more specific about where if people wish to meet.

I am NOT looking for a place to stay or guided tour (though if you want that would also be great :P ) but if people want to meet for coffee or to show me what their favourite restaurant is, then I'm open to doing that. I am traveling with others (who have played SGW but don't now) so if I meet up then the possibility exists that I won't be alone - hence don't be shy :P I promise the traveling companions don't bite.

In some of these cities I'm not staying that long - 2-3 nights maximum- and it may not be a weekend but I will be there. :)

Let me know here or via PM if you have an interest.

Cheers.

I don't see the point of this thread.
But, if you do really want to meet with someone you definitely do not know and cannot trust, I have a cousin, James, in LA.

Ethereal, while I can appreciate your sentiments, all meetings take place in public locations. And for the most part I've spoken to the people replying for a few years now via MSN or other methods.

As you have found this part of the forum, you will see that there is quite a tradition of meet up's around the world and as such this is not such an uncommon occurrence. Since you are so new, I can understand your reticence and lack of understanding but once you've been around for a while and have played either with or against some people, for some time, it's nice to put names to faces and shake hands and stuff like that in real life.

My trip to the USA is not to meet SGW people specifically, it's because I'm going on vacation and thus want to see the sights but since I like others have to eat, there is no reason why I can't share that meal with someone from the game. If they chicken out, I still get to eat in the designated place - which is public - and if I can't make it, they still get to eat.

So I thank you for the offer to meet your cousin but he will have to reply.

I -tried- getting down to St Louis, I already know a couple of SGW people from there but I just couldn't get down that way. We ran out of time with our touring plans around the place.

Maybe next time. :)

you better do a european tour ad some point, and for the record there is alot more to see in europe then in the USA when you put it into size perspective (no offence to the USA ppl but you have to travle vast distances in the USA if you want to see alot)

it sounds offensive, but isn't...

stone building and statues in 20+ countries dating back easily 1500 years in most places...

in a continent roughly the same size as the USA...

yea... I can see that... :)

still, I challenge Zeeky to tour the USA and compare it up close! :smt047

US is more interesting for its natural beauty than its man-made structures imo, especially out in the West. There are some cool cities to see though and other interesting sites, so it's definitely worth the trip. I agree it can't compare to a European trip, but it still can be fun.

I hope you enjoy your trip Tekki. If anyone is ever in the Pittsburgh area, let me know, though I understand it's not exactly on people's travel radar :P
