He or She doesnt like a post in the war thread that is about the war thread... Moderator Power Abuse, it is not his or her place to dictate what belongs in a war thread.. It had everything to do with the war, yet he or she removed the post...

Replying to a moderator is considered spam.
This is even spelled out in the rules.

this comes back to where a part of his posts is spam and the rest isn't
so therefore the mod says the whole post is spam which is untrue

Saying something off topic then adding something just to make it ontopic does
not make it ontopic instantly
no but why remove a post that is only partially offtopic if the other half contributes to the discussion? , surely you would then remove the offtopic part and keep the ontopic part.

Being a lazy ass admin I do not see the need to change the current state of the art regarding spam posts.

I suggest we do let MFC calm down first and continue this discussion when he sees himself fit to have one without resorting to insults.

Eärendil wrote:forum rules wrote:Section 9: Moderator Respect
Users are required to be respectful while addressing moderators who are acting in an official capacity. Moderators are likewise expected to be respectful to users while operating in an official capacity. Moderators will get no special treatment while posting as a user. If one party ceases to be respectful, that does NOT give the other party the liberty to respond with disrespect.
This extends to private messages and reports. If you message a staff member with demands or insults, or if you file a report with demands or insults, it will not be acceptable and may be ignored.
Consequence:
Users who are disrespectful to moderators or staff members will receive a verbal warning. Repeat offenders will receive one warning point. Issues about Moderators being disrespectful will be handled internally.
Watch it Or, you could resolve the issue via pm or
not where you were told not to do it.
an issue can't be resolved atm, all that happens is that the admins/mods argue their case and refuse to listen to the logic of the person who wants to resolve it.
I agree being disrespectful is not the way about it, but it can get very very frustrating if all you ever do it hold your own opinion on something and never listen to the logic.

If the mod wasnt lazy, could he not take out the spam? It takes seconds to fix a post with one line of "spam"...

Yes they could BUT, BUT.
Many people have often complained about mods doing that in the past, so just moving the post is much easier and simpler to do.
then the person has to repost the relevant parts, and he might not know which parts were offtopic, so he might repost everything and we are back where we started.
an edit of the post(removing spam) explaining when something is removed for being offtopic is probably the best solution i can think of
