Now onto something completely different, havent spoken about this with anyone but it could be fun and will pit all competing alliances against one another.

Now i havent thought everything through but what i envisage is a knockout competition like the English FA Cup, where we have 8/16 or 32 alliances involved that go into a draw with no seeding and the winner goes through to the next round culminating in the final where the winner is acclaimed the daddy alliance in gatewars and they keep that title till the following year.

Now alliances have different member numbers so we would need to say to participate you need a minimum of 8 members and would have to talk about limiting numbers of each alliance who participate but as its the FA Cup its all about David v Goliath.

We need to discuss how you declare the winner from each match up and so on, will it be once every member is zeroed the game is over, will it be how much M.E. each alliance gets, all this needs to be discussed/agreed on but each battle lasts for 2 days with no personal or alliance ppts allowed

Any further suggestions post them here and if you want your alliance involved also post here. Once weve confirmed rules and participating alliances we can proceed to the draw for round 1

i think threads like this belong in general, not sure so i wont report it. Anyway, sounds like a good potential idea, and i will make sure SS, arios and the real empy see this

As far as i know its eligible for GC as it will result in war and lets be totally honest here everyone no matter the alliance wants to see the big boys go toe to toe naps or not

why not? The game is about war..... yeah sure you don't want to fight your own allies in an all out war for months on end but abit of fun here and there could generate some banter and actually see the best of the best in the game go up against people of their own stats and abilities not just nailing on those weaker than them....

Everyone knows that all the major alliances have things like war chests for rebuilding.... OE's must be big enough to rebuild half the server by now....

Yeh that was individual One Vs Ones, and about 20 entrants max.....that went.....not well.

This is Hugely ambitious and would be awesome to see but it'll be mired in red tape as Zeek mentioned.

Purely because people are afraid of losing power.....?

If we couldn't even get the whole 1vs1 championship off the ground, how would we succeed in doing this?

Stats can't be remotely equal between the two sides (which yes you can say its the FA Cup, but where's the fun for a smallish n00blet alliance getting pwned by people with bigger MSes and coverts?)

Alliances within the same Empires will come up against each other (yes, they can afford it, but what is the point?)

And how on earth would you declare a winner? Its so damned subjective to be ludicrous - anything using ME can be distorted by an alliance hitting outside opposition, anything using first to be zeroed is just as bad cos all you'd do is sab someone's def away no matter the cost.....

Basically, you're looking at a logistical nightmare - no way to ensure fair pairings, no way to judge winners - all you'll get is a bunch of people whining after the first round

a ref could join each alliance and keep an eye on the logs?

That went fine at first actually.. it was just getting the players to complete the last round or two. I sent the naq for it to Dude I think...

Lol, Just Lol, This Idea would be Epic, Lol, but Not a single Empire would do this lol, FUALL will not war each other, why? because they have the power in the game, why would they? would you give it up? Nah... lol Not on something that has nothign to do with anything, maybe if you made a MASSIVE reward, say 20Trill to enter, and winner takes all that would be worth it I would think, but other then that, nah, FUALL became powerful by being smart... yes this is how the game should run, but it's not how it will ever go

are you forgetting that sigma warred alpha on the test server head on to test the updates. yeah okey it's only the test server but we went all out and everyone was stranded rescoursless.

it's not a mather of having the guts or not cuz every OE alliance has it. but you are forgetting that OE is a very close empire. we have a unifyed forum wich makes things hard. we also know to much about eachothers setups and it's idiotic for us to go fight our own, losses will be huge since neither alliance would back down. we would only weaken ourself to a very great extend.

ps, there is another huge issue:

the OE law, and trust me, it's one that is always upheld

Test server says it all really zeek and knowledge is power at teh end of the day be interesting to see give the guys a reason to start building back up and remember what's in like to sit statless again. Oh well shame really would be good to see
