question is too big to put in the poll question so I will type it here instead:

You stumble upon a Stargate after travelling to an ancient underground ruins/temple located in the middle of nowhere far from any sort of populated town or city. You notice the Stargate has a dialling mechanism and on the wall to the side you see what appears to be a single dialling address that corresponds to the symbols on the dialling input mechanism. You input the address and hit the activation button, the Stargate activates opening up the Event Horizon (wormhole entrance) before your very eyes. What would you do (keeping in mind you know nothing of what will be on the other side with no guarantee of making it back)?



My first thought was to go through IMMEDIATELY, but my head says "hold on a mo, how do you know the environment on the other side is safe for human life?!".
What i would do would be to send a camera through to have a look first and see if there is any vegetation and another dialling mechanism, vegetation would mean oxygen and as long as there are no hostile aliens on the other side destroying my camera (or MALP lol), i would jump through without a 2nd thought...

Tell the authority's?! HELL NO! they would bury any knowledge of it and would only look at it from a POV of exploitation.
IF i found myself in such a privileged situation, the first person i would be calling is Erich von Daniken.

Take the chance and walk through the Event Horizon.
That's what ill do with no 2nd thoughts.
Why? Couple of personal reasons,but the main reason : Human nature to explore and to know everything.

My bad for not having it as am option in the first place..it is after all, logical that some may have another choice in mind, and seeing how it would be impossible to cover all those options, that would more or less cover them all

Especially in such a topic?? Considering what a person might do upon discovering an improbable device in an improbable scenario ( like you'd be the only person to find in all the world, all on your own without anyone else around ) is a lil daft.


However entertaining the premise, I wouldnt do anything after all there is no evidence you could use the device on the other side to return, there is a survivable atmosphere, no hostile lifeforms that could attack or try to follow you home. The best thing to do would be to rebury the device and leave it alone.

I wasn't saying you couldn't be humorous in an improbable situation confronted by something HIGHLY improbable, I was simply saying that you could have come up with something original


Besides, i wanted to post something not NWO/politics/current affairs related to see if anyone would post of if i was all alone here lol

Id build my own MALP, head down Maplins, get a the biggest RC car they have, a robot arm, couple of webcams, one of those home weather stations, mic and speakers, strap it all together, hook it up to wireless and send it through

Authorities, pfft, Id post all the webcam footage all over the net, let them try to cover that up
