What can I say about these movie? They are..interesting. I figured I would recommend these to at least be watched once for the genre of the movie. There have not been many movies related to the "Black Plague" or the Church that I have come upon. However, I've seen two recently that were odd..yet I enjoyed watching them to the fact that it gripped me by the "mystery" revolving around it. I didn't think it was a super fantastic movie but it was worth a watch just for the "interesting" and "mysterious" factor.

Each have some decent actors.

Season of the Witch:
14th-century knights transport a suspected witch to a monastery, where monks deduce her powers could be the source of the Black Plague.

Black Death:
Set during the time of the first outbreak of bubonic plague in England, a young monk is tasked with learning the truth about reports of people being brought back to life in a small village.

Enjoy. :smt047

Watched Black Death a few weeks back and it was very good, lots of action and some very nice twists in the plot. Id recommend to anyone who likes medevil stuff, and likes to poke fun at silly religions.

lol I get told off a lot in work for being very unpolitacally correct and respect other people beliefs no matter how insane they are etc etc

Guess what I should have said is, the movie illustrates the power superstition and religious fanaticism used to have in the UK, it really wasnt so long ago that we were indoctrinating our people with these beliefs, and persecuting & murdering those who didnt fall into line.

And on a less thoughtful be more fun note, the sword play, torture and medevil action is all good :-D

I agree. That's why I decided to watch it, but to be honest..at first? I wasn't going to but I was glad I did.

Just be glad that most people know a days don't even know what happened from the United Kingdom, or the Church. They might not believe in it as they do now.

People go to war for the stupidest reasons.

Good idea, poor follow through imo

I was like watching a condensed poor quality video game

Very disappointing for a Nicholas Cage film. The kind of rubbish you expect to see on the Sci Fi channel.

I watched the Black Death - I recommended it to my supervisor who runs a module on it at uni. lol

It was actually mis-billed if you ask me - the way it is described, it sounds like its going to be a Boromir sword and sorcery film, but its actually quite a decent attempt to explore people's reactions to the pestilence: for some it reaffirmed their faith, for others it brought questions.

I'm guessing Sean Bean dies in this one too.

Except in Sharpe, in a war where things as simple as the food, the water, fever, infection in a single scratch without antibiotics could all kill you, Sharpey got shot several times, cut to the bone with swords, whipped, beaten and never died.

Immortal Sharpey :-D
