No Ordinary Family

Anyone else watching this, I just blitzed series 1, episodes 1-12 on the weekend now got to wait for the rest of the series to be aired ( put on download sites lol )

Great fun show, cheesy superpowers, fun family dynamic, and nasty underlying plot by the baddies :-D

Yeah but thats all part of the not taking it to seriously, it kinda pokes fun at itself and other superhero shows/films, the whole point is apart from the 'powers' they are normal in every other way.

The Character of Katie is my favorite, total geek always making the superhero film/comic book references, also nice bit of pretty.

In this day and age I never get my hopes up for TV shows being renewed. In fact these days i expect them to be canceled, that way it's a better surprise if they are renewed, and not a shock if they aren't.

Why do so many good shows die young :(

Amongst many things downloading is a big killer.

Exactly. Shows 'sell' far less domestically, let alone get picked up overseas, and thus don't provide a viable return on investment.

Same thing with music. In many ways, June 1999 (but even more July 2, 2001) is as much a kill-off point for quality television as August 1, 1981.

A lot of people have argued that the US air way too far in advance and therefore the rest of the world download. The same people argue that the gap should be closed. Now it is very common especially in the UK to get shows airing approximately 5 days after the US, but still people can't wait 5 days. I doubt some people could even wait 1 day.

So really it's the internet that's killed TV.

Plus, if you can download then what's the point in having a TV and paying a licence?

I stopped downloading a year ago and just watch it on TV now. My Sky Plus box is always full. And hopefully there will be more No Ordinary Family sitting on my Sky Plus next year (or whenever it would be).

5 days is a ridiculous amount of time to wait when you can download it the day of minus ads. They probably should just air the shows in Europe first, that way they are scheduled for the same time slot everywhere.

Agreed, the main reason I download is impatience waiting for US shows to air in the UK, sometimes you have to wait months for them to be aired. UK shows I just watch in the normal schedules on TV. If US producers sold rights worldwide at the same time downloading to watch would end, and the only people who download would be the ones who want to avoid insane DVD prices to own.
