Q: Why am I ranked higher than the average of my strike, defense and covert ranks?
ex:
Strike Action - - - - - - Ranked 100
Defensive Action - - - - - - Ranked 100
Covert Action - - - - - - Ranked 100
Rank: 45

A: Your rank is not the average of your ranks. It's based on the sum of your individual ranks. Players that are ranked higher than you in either one of the ranks that count(Strike Action, Defensive Action, Covert Action) are probably ranked lower than you in the other departments. You have to decide for yourself wether you want to focus on one aspect or balance your stats to raise your overall rank.

=======================================

Covert Capacity
Q: What is Covert Capacity ?
A: Covert capacity is like attack turns. You get one every turn up to a maximum of 50. Everytime you use a covert action (spying or sabotaging) you use up covert capacity. (You lose 3 Covert Capacity for every sabotage attempt and 1 for every spy attempt, wether it is succesful or not)

Q: What are the benefits of having a commander? What are the disadvantages?
A:
ADVANTAGES:
1. If you have a commander then you will get a % of his income (this is set by the commander at 10/15/20/25/30 and it is distributed to all officers. So every officer will get an equal portion of the percentage.
2. Usually your commander will help you with advice and they may offer assistance by striking at your enemies or even giving you mercenaries. This is what may be done, but the game does not force a commander to help his officers.
3. A commander can't attack or sabotage his officers. However, he can easily dismiss you and attack anyway. So, making someone your commander to prevent them from attacking you is not very efficient.

DISADVANTAGE:
1. If you have no commander, you will get a 10% bonus to your naquadah per turn, and a 10% bonus to your troop production per day (this does not show in you command center, but you do get it)You can also make yourself your commander in the same way you would make someone else your commander. In this case you get a 20% bonus to your troop production per day.

=======================================

Q: What are the benefits of having officers? What are the disadvantages?
A:
ADVANTAGES:
1. If u have officers then you will get a portion of their unit production/day, depending on the percentage of your income that you donate to your officers. Depending, so not equal, if you give 30% you don't get 30% of their unit production, but you do get twice as much as when you give them only 15%.
2. Having officers opens up the officer control page. This is accessed from the command center by clicking on the underlined officers link. From there you can:
- send mercenaries to your officers.
- view your officers attack and intelligence logs to see wether they need help.
- click their recruitment link to give them an extra untrained soldier
- dismiss them as your officers
3. You can send a message to all of your officers at once.

DISADVANTAGE:
1. If you have officers then you have to donate a percentage of your income to them. This is set at values 10/15/20/25/30 % and can be adjusted from your Command Center page next to the "% Income to Officers:" Set the % you want to donate and click "Set Rate"
2. If you have officers you can't attack or sabotage them. You must first dismiss them. This can be done from your officers control page.

=======================================

Q: My weapons are gone...what happened?
A: Most likely you were sabotaged. Check you intelligence logs to see if there's a log. If there's no sabotage log, make sure you didn't sell them accidentally. If you're certain you didn't sell them and you didn't get sabotaged, you might want to change your password just in case. Also check the bugs forum to see if there's been a bug that might have caused it. If all else fails, send a PM to forum.

=======================================

Q: I got sabotaged. How do I prevent this?
A: Increase your covert defense. There are 3 ways to do this. The easiest way is to buy more spies. Keep in mind that spies don't generate income. The second way is to increase spy skill level. Doing so effectively doubles your spy power. Both of these also increase your covert offense. You can also activate your realm alert level, this is done from the command center.

=======================================

Q: What is "Realm Alert Level" ?
A: "Realm Alert Level" allows you to increase your covert defence. Spy and sabotage missions against you become more difficult and the maximum damage a succesful sabotage against you can do is reduced. Also, if realm alert is activated (above none) you have a chance of seeing who sabotaged you even if they succeed. Activating realm alert level reduces your income. The rates are : None = 0% ; Low = 10 % ; Medium = 20 % ; High = 40 % ; Critical = 70 %. Setting Realm Alert Level at critical is as good as buying the next spy skill, but only for defensive purposes, not for recon/sabotage, nor for ranking.

=======================================

Q: Whats the deal with "Current Spy Skill"?
A: "Current Spy Skill" is the multiplier in your covert action. Spy level 0 means every spy is worth 1 point of covert action. Every level doubles your spy power. However, the cost of the next level also doubles. There is currently no maximum level you can buy.

=======================================

Q: What can you tell me about unit production?
A: "Unit Production" is the number of units the game will give u every 24 hours (that doesn't include the units from the officers or bonuses from having no commander or having yourself as your commander). Every upgrade costs 15000 more than the last. Every upgrade increases your daily unit production by 3. There is currently no limit to how many of these upgrades you can buy. Mind you, these units will not appear all at once, you get a portion of it every turn.

=======================================

Q: Where is the Officer Management?
A: From the Command Center click on the "Officers" link to the left of "% Income to Officers:". This link is only active when you actually have officers

=======================================

Q: What's "Protected Planets Treaty"?
A: The protected planets treaty protects a player from attacks and sabotage. Every player starts under this protection. After that, you can get under protection again by donating to the game. While under protection, you can spend or bank your naquadah normally. However if you attack or try to sabotage someone, the protection ends and you are in the open. If you don't attack or sabotage, the treaty will end after approximately 2 days.

=======================================

Q: Can i change my race?
A: Yes you can. But you will lose all your weapons, your siege and fortification bonuses and your current commander (which you can of course get back easily).
To change your race, locate the option "Reset Account / Change Race" in the lower right of your command center.

=======================================

Q: How many "Fortifications and Siege Levels" are there?
A: There are 2 Fortifications and 2 Siege Levels for Replicators and Goa'uld ; 3 Fortifications and 2 Siege Levels for Asgard ; 2 Fortifications and 3 Siege Levels for Tauri ;

=======================================

Q: I bought a weapon but I got less power than usual. Why is that?
A: The most probable cause is that there's no trained troops to man it. Untrained units are less efficient with a weapon than trained soldiers and mercenaries.

=======================================

Q: I heard about supporter status. What is it and how do I get it?
A: Supporter status is obtained by donating money to further develop the game and cover server expenses. For the actual benefits, follow the "Support this site -UPGRADE" link from the lower right corner of your command center.

=======================================

Q: I have an idea that might improve the game. Where do I go with it?
A: Put it on the suggestions board. Please make sure you check wether a topic about this idea already exists. For instance, the topic of adding new races has been opened quite a few times already, so post your ideas about that in one of those threads. Here's the link to the suggestions board. https://talk.gatewa.rs/viewforum.php?f=13

=======================================

Q: Something's not working like it should, what now?
A: First of all, if it can be used to your advantage, don't. Forum will know. You might be penalized or even have your account deleted. Exploitable bugs are best reported directly to forum in a PM. That way, it can be fixed before people start abusing it massively, which can have some quite disrupting effects on the game. Ask anyone about the "Tok'ra incident".
Second case, you're not getting naquadah, turns, weapons, your attack scores seem wrong or something else just doesn't seem right. Check the bugs forum for an active thread that describes the same problem. If there isn't one post a new one.
Here's the link to the bugs forum.

Q: Something smells funny. I think this person is cheating, what do I do.
A: Report your findings in the cheaters forum. Please don't make accusations without at least elaborating on how you think they cheat. If you think someone has more han 1 account (that's a common form of cheating) use the "Cheaters named" sticky thread.
Here's the link to the cheaters forum.

Q: How do i make someone my Commander
A:
lord saturnine wrote:Look up the name of the potential commander in the attack directory (as if you were about to attack them) type the name in the search. This is located at the bottom of the page. After this, it should bring up the name of the potential commander. Scroll down, then underneath the commander's stats there will be a button "make this user my commander" Hit it and good luck!

=======================================

Q: What are untrained mercs for?
A: Untrained mercs serve no purpose. They cannot be trained into attack or defence mercs and do not add to army size.

=======================================

Q: How many G&R points are needed to ascend?
A: A minimum of 1001 G&R points are needed before you can progress on the path to ascension.

=======================================

Q: I'm missing a planet or I was attacked and there are no logs. How is this?
A: More than likely your attacker ascended right after attacking. Ascending removes all battle logs among other things.
