Ok, its fairly simple... one person posts a snapshot from some movie or other, then others guess until someone gets right one... try not to take too obscure movies...
Once correctly guessed, someone (preferably that person) posts next image...



first one is from a fairly well-known movie (we think)

thats not The Lord of The Rings is it??
it looks familiar...

it could be, but it could also be another movie... for some reason movies tend to like having people in dark cloaks with shadowed faces... (says we, who've made our own such cloak)

come with specific movies... not series of movies...

i did that for a primary school book-week parade

we did it for fun... used it to scare people...

its somewhat like a surcoat with a long black hood... when pulled all the way down, it covers more than half the face...

anyways, the image is still not identified...

And are we just guessing the show or the actual actor?

first the movie, but you can probably go on to guess character later...

its only been a few hours since image was posted... and only two guesses, of which one was vague... no hints yet...

Eragon?

nope... what character in eragon did you think it could be? (just curious... its been a while since we saw that adaption-decayed movie...)

I had to tinker with the picture settings just to see it clearly, still cant identify it, clearly human, redness could indicate fire nearby, cloak green, and I think maybe a tree in the top right background so Im thinking something medevil or mythical rather than sci fi. Go on..... give us a clue

You guessed correctly in that it is not science fiction.

Well, I'd go for mythical ahead of medievil.

And for the sake of guessing: LOTR - Fellowship of the ring. And if a character is to be guessed may I say Frodo?


Also, If you are going to answer questions. how well known is this movie?

It certainly looks like aragorn in the corner of the prancing pony watching frodo and the other little hobbits getting drunk during the fellowship of the ring... but like you say its a fairly common occurrence in films
