Moving away from the F ukushima crises (for now), i found this video on YT which shows cracks forming and spreading in real time as they happen. you will have to skip past the first 1 min and 45 seconds which i paid very little attention to, so if you watch it don't accuse me of anything, i only supply the link because i found it fascinating to see real time footage of a minor quake:

Edit2: It's also quite possible that parts of Japan could slip into the ocean, it has happened before!
