... still worth to play? ascended multiple TOC dmged main game... all good players are quiting, there aint many new players...
can this game survive for another half year?

i am just wondering where this is going to...

That brings up a question: did this second update to ToC in ascended was by Jason himself (thinking he didn't update last time as he planned to), or was it by people who suggested it?
Because Jason must be told that this update will probably cause some players to leave, among which $$ players...not because people are lazy or something, but because it requires activity that many cannot provide (read people saying they have more than 8 hours out of the game access due to work), which is rather a problem when the push for activity goes too far.

I don't even see who benefits from this update, excepted a handful players who can descend most people by themselves with their godlike ToCs and want to boost their record by their own. Instead of resorting to team-playing, decrease the time, to be able to do it solo.. The early 2011 update was good, why the need to go further?

I believe it was caused because people kept moaning that there were too many players undescendable. People are getting upset because they think the update means they'll be descended everytime they step away from the pc. I'd have to ask...of those complaining, how many have been descended due to the update thus far?

Yeah. I am.
Sure, stuff changes all the time, not always for the best.. but this is part of the metagame. The one we didn't sign up for, but .. the one we do like.

Probably, well it depends also who's the one trying to descend you, as there aren't that many monster ToCs around, but they exist, and are quite massive from what I read. I don't even know now what's a secure account now, probably 950+ MNEC and 825+ def levels...

I got descended, that prompts me to do one of 3 things:

1) Bank a lot of naq , farm a lot of naq and buy loads of DMU, make my account as secure as it can get and go back to not caring.
2) Start playing ascended and start descending the people that descended me.
3) Both.

What a fantastic comment. Didn't think that as a valid comment before - it gives you the chance to get a punch back in and against some of the defences these days, could be a powerful ally.

So, yes, it is worth playing in my opinion. If you don't think it is, further help to reduce the costs of buying a decent account in the market place

So back on topic

To clarify a misunderstanding that appears to be taking root.. the motto of Play and Adapt does not mean passively sitting back accepting whatever admin throws at us. The metagame includes fighting for what you believe is good for the game, even if odds are against you, and feeling like crap when your long-standing plan, scheme or plot fails. It also includes forum interaction, MSN interaction, IRC interaction.. basically everything you would throw your GW-persona(e) into is included in the metagame. And the metagame never, ever, substantially changes.

All in all, it's a great game. Just be as twisted as I am. *glare*

It would be nice if there was a bit of an announcement about important updates such as that one, seeing as it led to many people starting to try and descend people who weren't hit before. I know myself haven't been even attempted to descend in the past 2 years or so and within the past 3 days 3 people have tried. I know I tried to warn Ashu however sadly he was down before he even logged in that day.
