Flavars Guide to a successful Attack
First you have a choice to make: Do I want to gain rank to ascend or do I simple want to make money.
If you don’t care for rank keep your strike low 1 million(is enough). This will later described as Method B.
If you care for rank you need strike the only question is how high should it be. (Method A).
Now to Method A
Basically a Strike of 1 Billion would be enough to ascend. But you generally will only have disadvantages from it. You wont get people with a high deff and wont really be able to gather much more naq, but you will have a much larger repair bill and losses.
At 2 billion strike you will see that you can finally break through a new level of farms that you could not touch before. Now it really starts to become rewarding.
Now you can start and look regularly through the pages 2-50 and search for targets. More often than not you will be able to find some gems that have large amounts of naq out and a low enough deff.
The next big step is around seven Billion. Now you will really have to look out for losses and Mothership. The repair cost can be nearly ignored, but if you are not careful you wont get anything out of a steal. You can say that 250 million is the bare minimum you have to make to still make a profit.
The biggest advantage of it is that you can regularly make the big success if you look a bit around, since there wont be many other players who could be faster than you.
Method B.
Is the Method for most players. Simple farm the no deff players, or inactive accounts. Without much looking around the lower pages you will find targets of 40-50 million and up. With nearly no cost and an unlimited source of targets you can make masses of money if you have enough time and buy turns from other players and /or over the market. I made with it up to 2-3 billion a day a few month ago. (There the amount of a good steal would be around 20-30 million ) [There is no limit to the ammount of money you can make this way if you simple have enough time and enough access to market turns (thanks to spoon)]
I think I will return to this method as soon as I am finished with ascending since it suits me best.
Addition to Method B:
Tabbed browsing with firefox:
You have the rankings in on tab, scroll though the lower pages and open every good taget in a new tab.
Then you declare war and attack. You can even open many Tabs at once so that you can farm enough at once (in under a half minute) to get bigger thinks like a mothership at once.
Generally about farming,
1. Note whom you attack
1.1 Race:
Tauri, best target possible. Most of the time they have no deff. Very few Tauri have more than one bill deff.
Replicator, Go auld are pretty much the same but Go aulds normally have the higher deff.
Asgard, what to say, Hologram, Deff, You can find some Asgards in the 4k with billions of Deff. You always have to spy on Asgard (if they aren’t in the area of dead accounts) to make sure you can get through their deff.
1.2 The Player himself, Rank and more important Co and Alliance, make sure that you are not trapping into a spider nest, or are powerful enough to be able to do it.
2. You are asked to stop to Farm somebody what to do:
That has everybody to decide for himself, but normally if I am asked in a polite way (polite no begging) I will either stop farming somebody or only do it when it is a really really good catch. If somebody insults me he becomes top of my target range and will be farmed as often as possible.
3. Sometimes you will have to live with the fact that you are sabbed or massed in response for your attack. That’s a risk you have to live with and which grows much larger the higher and stronger players you attack. But that is even some of the thrill off it the risk of attacking an Omega member for example...
4. A consideration you should also make is that having a mothership will on the one hand lower your losses, since you need less armed weapons but on the other hand can get really expensive repair bills in the higher regions.
5. Dont forget to declare war before you attack--> you get more naquada because of that (combined with higher losses). And more important that targets goes to your enemie list ( under rankings --> my enemies) and if you haev enough good farms there (people with many miners) you normally dont have to search for targets anymore . you simple look through your enemy list.
This is the first draw of it. I will continue to work on it. Thinks that should be added changed are welcome. You don’t have to agree with what I write but please no senseless flames. If you disagree or have otherviewpoints post them so that we can discuss it.
Have fun attacking,
Flavar
