New option: Scrapyard?

Heres an idea: Scrapyard
Basically it is this: You tell one of your agents goes to a planet which seems to be a Scrapyard world.
Amongst the Scrapyard, there seems to be many items which are sold, and some seem to be rare, but they are damaged.
Basically, in this Scrapyard you can take things back to your homeworld and repair the stuff, heres an example:
Bedrosian Shuttle Pod- Weapons: Functional. Used for trapping victims with its sheild technology, before killing them or taking them back for capture. Seems to be in a damaged state:
Strength 1000/3,000
180,000 Naquedah.
Amount: 5/5 (only a few are there)
P90 Submachine Gun- Weapons: Functional. Stolen weapons of the Tau're. Seems to be in a very damaged state:
1620 Naquedah
Strength 5/20
Amount 15/20.
Fusion Shield Generator- Defense: Functional. A Shield device scavenged from an alien race. Near perfect condition:
Strength 3000/3000
230,000 Naquedah.
Amount 1/1
Basically there are something like 3 choices from different alien races across the universe, which it's technologies can be used. However, the Scrapyard is replenished per month. So it's up for grabs for secret technology. This is to allow technology from those alien races we see in SG-1
What do you think?

I like, I like. But how about this. The scrapyard is where you find things that people sell from their armorys. So when say, a Gould sells a damaged death glider or two that he would rather sell than repaire, they end up in the scrapyard as they were when he sold them, and they then can be bought up by anyone else. So you would never know what you would find there.

maybe a few other weapons, that no races have could be found there, these weapons shouldnt be too powerful but worth buying

there could be an ancient weapon like on earth, but that could cost 1,000,000 naquadah. there could also be ZPM's available for 500,000 naquadah, which would increase your total attack/defence strength.

Good idea, but I'd say up the price - 1 million is peanuts to some of us!!

Ladies and gentlemen, we've found out how to add commerce to this game.
Forum could just add the "Junkyard Manager" race to the main screen, with -50% Naquada production and the ability to have a Junkyard. They'll need weapons and ships and such, though.

you see no dot, unit production is a long term strategy most people start buying weapons training spies and never buying units, if you start always buying units you will make 70-80k per turn in no time

Well, I'm working on it right now, and I'm getting over 10,000K per turn at Critical Alert Level. I'm trying to get to over 8,000 units so I can buy endless Repli-Bombs and IMAs. At a little over 8,000, you can buy one per turn.
[edit] Scratch that stat. That came from when I got 20 Naquada per turn per non-spy unit. I've not figured it right now for Critical Alert Level and the new Naq/turn values.

on critical 70% of naq is lost, and the turn income was doubled so it would take 4000 (if ur math is right) non-spies to get 160k per turn

this has thread has gone somewhat off topic so i would like to direct attention back to the suggestion, i think it is a good idea and would like to see it implemented...
if forum could voice his opinions that would be great

Interesting idea but I have a few questions, the first relates to the above quote. You have a stockpile of 'scrap' weapons that can be obtained by sending agents to retrieve them. How much scrap is out there and how do you make it worthwhile to send your agents, why not just buy your weapons as you would normally? Do you think there should be risks involved. You send 1000 agents to a planet to retrieve weaponry, surely something could go wrong?
If you actually implemented this idea you would have to write new codes for the weapons you find. This might be a problem I don't know but you have to consider it. Also, assuming that these "hidden technologies" will have a higher HP/Damage Capacity than normal weapons, how much difference would they really make? Why would I risk sending my agents to retrieve weaponry that would have the same effect on my strike action as three of the normal big weapons would for example?
