Tomorrow, Friday the 13th 2011, last episode of SG-U, also the last episode created by Stargate franchise, will be broadcast on Syfy. The end of a fourteen years adventure, and seventeen if we were to count the movie.

The movie was..interesting. Pity that the later Jack wasn't the original Jack.

I liked both the serious Kurt Russell but also whimsical RDA.. but yes a very sad time without Stargate it is! I remember catching bits of episodes through syndication before finally getting cable and watching every single episode lol. Its why I found SGW..

They should have made the Atlantis and Jack O'Neill movie.

Indeed.

Jack O'Neill: "Alright, if you're going to go ahead with it, I want to make sure you get one thing right. It's 'O'Neill' with two 'L's' There's another Colonel O'Neil with only one 'L'--he has no sense of humor at all."
He says it all!

SGU killed the franchise for me almost 2 years ago and TBH the sequel movies were little more than straight to DVD extended episodes so it's no wonder they didnt make any more of them.
Even SG1 should have ended when RDA left, remember when it was a great show and you looked forward to each new episode and try to forget the trash that was series 10.

SG-1 should have ended at the end of season 8.
Atlantis was good but the whole show just had something missing, but i can't quite put my finger on it. I think it was the dynamics of the show.
Universe I was actually enjoying. Much more character based and not just trying to copy what SG-1 and Atlantis was doing. It wasn't given enough time to shine in my opinion.
The direct to DVD movies were ok but could have been much better.
The original movie triggered the franchise so it's gotta be awesome!
The franchise has not ended, Stargate will be back some day.

What, Stargate The Next Generation ? Oooo Sam in Spandex I like it
I still think they should do a prequel, maybe have some like...
Start in WW2, Nazi's open the gate and go through just as allied soldiers attack and are forced to follow by tomb where the gate is/was collapsing around them ( a touch of the Indiana Jones about it ) leaving good and bad human soldiers stranded in the middle of a Gou'ald war, lots of scope for fun & asskicking back in the original style of SG1 out numbered and outgunned, with slave revaults as in the original movie.

For a prequel it would be easier to take ancient Goa'uld history... Perhaps take on the origins of the tok'ra / goa'uld war...

No more Ori. Mad boring.
More into the Ancient, and Wraith. Hell - You could even throw in subplots from Destiny on there just so that show isn't forgotten.
