bank size

I think the new minimum bank size sucks, as someone who has played off and on for years and invested turns and cash in account upgrades (a long time ago the only way to make your bank bigger was to buy supporter status) and I just broke the 1,000,000,000,000 mark during my account rebuild this time. It seems like it’s all been for nothing. I'm not sure how others feel but I don't agree with this instant big bank for all. Guess it’s just the old player mentality in me.

Not exactly admins problem if you haven't followed the game through time. It was a decent move for him to attract noobs anyway.
Its common to see a 500 trill bank size, so if your account has existed for such a time and you haven't bothered to put that much effort into it then you have only yourself to blame and I have no sympathy for you purchasing SS and expecting a massive benefit from it later on. Not to mention either that buying SS and bank upgrades isn't the best route to building a large bank size, a natural one yes, but hardly a larger one.

thats a bit unfair SOL... its much easier to increase bank sizes now since that Alliance bank update...

I hadn't realized he had increased it to that much, thought it was more like a t to make it fessible for them to hold enough to buy ATs atleast..

LoL Kasket, I can imagine how you feel that that would suck though ^_^
I just took a glance at your account, and your bank will increase if you get more miners/slavers too, atm, your at a relative small size ;)

If you would want some more tips drop me a pm in game :)

And sol, admins not only trying to attrackt n00bs, but preferbly new decent players too haha.

lol, admin tries, that's the main thing.

Why because he spent monies ages ago and bought upgrades and is now complaining because it didnt work out for him? It's amazingly easy to get mills of UU by raiding now. So he took a wrong route to increasing his bank size, at least he would have a decent natural one now anyway.
Pretty sure we have all done some stupid things in the past too and just moved along.

Nonetheless, admin should have just done an overall increase of 1 trill to everone's bank so even the new players would get it, and yeah it does suck what happened to kasket.

Apparently the principle of a 'minimum' is not understood properly.. minimum bank != starting bank.

As shown in the picture, the actual bank size is the striped red area.
When a player has a bank size of 200B (i.e. he is UNDER the blue line), his actual bank size will be 1T (the minimum - see the red stripes).
When a player has a bank size of over 1T (i.e. he is ABOVE the blue line), his actual bank size will be that (see the red stripes).

Image

If a player with NO income (and as a consequence, no natural bank; actual bank size 1T) buys a 10% natural upgrade, he still has a bank size of 1T.
If a player with a lot of income (and as a consequence, a big natural bank; over 1T) buys a 10% natural upgrade, his bank size will visibly increase.

So if it took you years to get to 1T bank size, yes, you might feel like you lost work. You did not. Others will have to take just as much time to get where you are; they just cannot increase their bank size much. Without income, their bank will only be 1T, and it will be 1T for a LONG time.

This is the only fair way to do this. Older players don't notice the effect, new players notice their bank size allows them to trade ATs and UU. The few players that fall exactly at the 1T mark shouldn't notice much change, if anything.

back in the day it was the only way, raiding didn't exist, nor did the market for that matter.

I understand minimum, and it still sucks.

No, what sucks is new accounts with a bank capacity of 1,000 naq. Your lucky to but one covert level with that. And probably lucky to be able to afford a UP upgrade over 100UP/day.

This was a good thing for 2 reasons:
1) Allows new players to save funds, instead of always needing to spend until more units are gotten some how.
2) Allows new players to trade turns and be able to hold the naq received. Also for saving up themselves, and buying turns themselves.

Have you seen just how much the bank increases costs for an alliance now, its massive now, any big alliance will probably never use the bank increases now, unless they are disbanding, i honestly dont know what admin changed it, who cares if you can hold 50Quad naq, honestly, most people will never see 1Quad let alone 50Q ( you get the idea )

But it does however allow people to sit in perg with 5 mil miners and be able to save for ridiculous covert levels

Just the same way they can do it in main, if you wanna restrict it, make it capped in perg.

Pergatory is not accessible above 53,904,110

Make it there bank size cannot go above Perg limit * 1,000,000 meaning there bank size is capped at 53trill, or even 2,000,000 making it 107trill, if someones bank is already over that size when entering perg, the galactic council puts a restriction in place.

Solved.
