This has started in the US and begins in the UK in July. Anyone got any opinions on whether I should bother when it starts in July?

I would say yes...I watched the first 2 episodes the other day and i thought it was very good...they is no BS like other shows of them not showing the aliens..you get to see them with in the first 20 min of the start and they don't look rubbish.
Does anybody else think that the two legged ones are
The kids with the aliens on the backs made bigger or something like that
or is it just me thinking to much
I also thought the second part was a bit like Jericho the TV show from a few years back...bar the Aliens...would anybody agree or again am i thinking to much and watch far to much American TV and need to get out more

I'd agree with your assessment.
The show is fairly promising based on the 2 hour premier. I'd watch again next week. I won't say much about the show since it hasn't started in the UK just yet, but so far I would say Maggie's my favorite character.
My theory about the two-legged things is
They are all the abducted humans over the past 60ish years that have been turned alien.
The aliens had to have a way of knowing how to engineer the harnesses, so there have to be some failed human experiments.
I watched the trailer, and all I could do was cringe and remember all of the other recent alien invasion shows that look EXACTLY like this. Just instead of being put into a movie stand point, it's now in a drawn out TV stand point.

That's what i thought when i saw the trailer, so i decided to wait and see what others thought. I guess the only way to tell is to try it myself. I think if i watch it i'll watch it with the assumption it will be cancelled lol. Then there would be no disappointment if i did like it.

The show is actually pretty good. It doesnt start with a long list of episodes explaining what is happening and what is going on.
I very much liked how the intro to the whole story was done, with the kids pictures and all
It realy got the story on track fast.
So far what I have seen it looked great.
Its like you start in the middle of a post apocalyptic alien invasion.
Somewhat original storyline I'd guess, other stories may look like it, but not to an annoying degree. I will surely follow this
The bipad droids look more to do what someone said in the serie, its like a mential stimulans to fear them

Also, them harnesses, I'd say they are universal, and will fit anything with a brain
Just got round to watching episodes 1-3 and very good, I would recommend it from what Ive seen so far.
I also liked the intro with the kids pictures, Im sure we all like sci fi battles but without a Hollywood budget I think they made the right choice to spend the money on good actors, director etc and skip the whole War or the Worlds / Independence Day blockbuster type intro.
The harnesses remind me of the The Tripods, an old Sci Fi show where aliens had taken over and reduced what was left of mankind to slavery policed by three legged machines, only in The Tripods things were a bit further on, no one could remember a time before the aliens, people lived in medevil style villages and farmed a tribute for the aliens, and their version of the harness was a skull cap they was fitted to all children when they became adults making them compliant and docile.
The idea that the Harnesses grow with the child and become part of them is great, but if they kill all the adults it leaves a problem for a long term slave race, procreation of the next generation of slaves, with the women captured I think we will see breeding farms further down the line and more relatives/GFs to save in daring raids.
The execution of prisoners for display was a mistake IMO, if you intend to wipe people out who are scattered, you want them to attack you. The slaves make bait just as good as the food and weapon stores if not better.
The apperrant control of the child even after the harness was removed and alien stripped implies the aliens have some kind of telepathy, and some biological part of the harness had already grown inside the child.
As for the 'Mechs' having 2 legs ( reminiscent of ED209 in Robocop ), I think the human inside is possible, a more extreme version of the harness would explain it far better than combat psychology, and a biological component with telepathy would again explain how the Skitters control the Mechs remotely.
I am up to episode 4 and i am finding now to be a bit cheesy...i rewatched the first episode on FX and i have changed my mind about it....I would rather have another season of V then this show...It reminds me of the old Thundercats cartoon...a bit of action a ok'ish story line and a moral to the story in each episode (i might have thundercats mixed up with He-man) but if you watched them shows you know what i mean..
Everybody seems to be to nice and they is to many father son moments and refences to every war that has happened....plus that guys wife died 6 months ago and already him and the doctor are eyeing each other up..

Episode 5............. Disappointing
98% of this episode was a load of soppy BS, baby shower and 'dad, dad is that you', slow scenes little action.
1% was a cool scene where to doc kills a skitter up close and personal, although they also killed any chance of surprise by basically telling you it would happen.
1% was the freaky actions of the skitter perched above it's harnessed children, looked kinda like it was an animal looking after it's young, new twist maybe it they invaded to make more of their race.
Overall, I will try the next episode but if it continues to go the way it is I may give up on the series
