take the game back to how it was before the updates.

lots of people i talk to all say the same thing...

it was better before the game updates came into affect.

it was easyier on new players to still be able to defend them selves, they didnt have to worry baout these huge covert levels that unless they spend lots of $$ they have no way of catching.

its enough they have to worry about spending over 2 years ascending to unkown.

the game seems to be dying and honestly i loved the way it was back then and so do a lot of others.
who else agrees and disagrees and the reasons why.

people dont like change, but it happens and you have to adapt just like in the animal kingdom, things change constantly but everything adapts. the game needs to keep moving forward or it will become a stand still.

Not all 2010 updates were bad, the doubling of stats was good at reducing the effects of $$$$ built planets and MSs when massing................ erm, well thats the only good bit I can think of lol

Houses are rubbish, they havent formed all alliances into several empires as ( supposedly ) intended, and the most valuable houses are still simply held by the same biggest empires before the update.

Alliance functions ( PPT/repair ) made the same biggest alliances/empires extremely expensive ( and combined with nox sometimes impossible ) to mass as they are the only ones with the numbers to rota & cover the functions 24/7

Increase in % of weapons destroyed by sabbing and alliance functions killing of massing made Covert/AC levels all important, this meant anyone ascending could barely play and a game elitism of those who could afford them outmatching those that couldnt, either through $$$$ or through whole empires funding a few individuals to do all the fighting for them.

Worst thing is most people knew when beta testing was happening that it was a terrible update but admin only listened to a few, and would not give up on the idea because he had already spent to much time coding it.

i agree a handfull of updates are okay and we should adapt if it was adaptable.

but is being able to adapt being able to spend $$? when us humans notice things happening in the animal planet there is always awarrent for change.

keep the good parts of the update but atleast make the over powerd ones disapear.

if you havent noticed this game is dying.

i persoanlly think that thats because oh how manny ascension levels there are. new people dont stand a chance so therfor give up in the game leaving smll inactive accounts.

the people that persue with the game and get reasonably big dont have a hope in hell of with standing attacks form the big empires. i remember when it didnt matter whether or not you had a massive covert level. if u had some naq and uu you could mass things at a not to high of a loss.

Which updates Twistie? I think you really need to be a bit clearer abotu which updates. There are up and downs to most of them as Mezzanine has pointed out but your thread is a little vague as to which updates you are talking about.

Im positive he's referring to the Updates that changed the game completely.

Sorry Twist but THe only Reason it changed is because the people at that time that where stat builders where complaining to Admin J so he updated to suit them.

I agree i would love to go back to the Type of Game where AT's where the only thing i needed to worry about when massing lol...(fun Friday night Random Massing sessions with the guys)

Fact is the Change will only happen when Jason completely SHuts himself off to Private Messaging and ignores Single people complaining and looks and see's what the game needs best and why the game is going downhill instead of growing...

Updates= making the game better for everyone and is supposed to promote Activity ,Then why is everyone now quitting because of the updates?? i think Twist's Idea has merit Lets go back to the way it was loads of massing expensive AT's and Less Drama with Big Empires and alliances just mass mass mass...

This one is the worst result, if anything is changed at ALL make it so this group can play again.

your right as what i was tlaking about and every since the updates so manny players have quit and left. i mean seriously everyone enjoyed the game more before the game changed as much as it did and if we show how manny people want ti back the way it was then maybe admin J will listen... we can only try

The game heamorraged players like Anne Boleyn after they chopped her head off... seriously, updates etc are supposed to improve the game, enhance it and allow it continue to thrive. Most of the updates just drove people away.

As JT and Mezz pointed out, previously if you were ascending, you could war and continue ascending, in fact it was a good challenge. Now you pretty much have to wait 2 years and finish ascending before being able to do anything worth while... No one has that kind of patience.

Going back to how things were might be a step back but when you're heading for an abyss, a step back might be the best step you ever took.

i just hate how massing and sabbing are now. takes me 2k turns to remove a 500 bill defence. You dont even use turns to sab, let alone halve the time of massing + its undetectable to everyone but the opponent.

What we have here is J over fixing a problem that needed a tweak

Put sabbing to 3% (Of the old 4% I think) and then revert massing to a medium of the new and old

Maybe that will balance the two

it is 3%...
it was 2%, then it went to 4% then it went to 3%. Now since the average players has 10-20 mill weps thats quite a lot to destroy per hit.
Plus we have a 100 covert capacty, ex 50.

Then 2.5% or let less sabs occur before covert phasing :P

But you get my point?

ya

well if sabbing remains how it is i at least dont want to use 2k turns to mass a ridiculously small defence.

halving the coverts didn't cause people to raise their coverts as much as I had suggested in that infamous thread of mine...

no, people who finished ascending, either to level 23 or to whatever level they had decided was going to be their final level...

then they had all this naq lying around they weren't used to having before... :P
