Transformers: Dark of the Moon

I watched this movie tonight, and I must say that it is definitely a Michael Bay film. Everything was blown up, and I do not wish to spoil things, but it ranges from the smallest of things to the largest of things in this galaxy.

The movie was a disappointment for a hardcore fan because it was more focused on war, death, etc than actual 'lore' (or so I believe). It felt like it was trying to be 'epic' rather than just being epic.

Definitely worth a watch if you loved the first two, however, with the current prices (my theater was $9.75 CDN per ticket for an adult which is a bloody rip off) I do not know if I can openly recommend this movie for a fan of the actual story behind it.

Fans Of The First Two - 10/10
Lore Dependent Fans - 6/10

I wish you all a good time. ;)

Possibly, yes. My rating was a bit overdone as it always is, however, it remains true to what I said. :P

Compared to the previous films, this one was better by far. There was a stronger plot line that actually managed to last the full film, and even more than just one main conflict in the film. Of course, then you had Michael Bay destroy Chicago, so there are still the massive explosions that every Bay film finds necessary. I also liked how the Autobots were finally playing for keeps. It never did make much sense to fight with swords and giant guns and then not kill the enemy.

I'd give it a 6/10 as a film. But I know that nothing done by Michael Bay should ever be expected to get anywhere close to film standards.

Keep in mind, most film critics are snobs who look for stellar acting performances in typically slower moving films with a dramatic story line. People who enjoy Rain Man are not going to be fans of any Transformers movie.

I think Dutch was my favorite. Not sure if it's because it was Alan Tudyk or because the character was made of awesome. Probably because Tudyk pulled it off so well. :smt042

For any Chuck fans out there, did you spot Jeff Barnes (1/2 of Jeffster!)?

Watched it and felt there was nothing really new to it.

Reminded me so much of Hangover 2 in concept - Exact same story just a different place and slightly different back story but otherwise the same movie as the previous ones.

The cgi and overall effects are still amazing to watch but it does get to the point where it feels too busy.

Plus points for a good replacement for Megan Fox :-D

7/10 I'd say

Now they need a Beast Wars movie

I enjoyed it, same as the first 2. OTT carnage. They avoided the gimmicky hardy har har sections for the most part, and it was the least annoying cast of the trilogy. Also They managed to differentiate between the individual transformers far more then the 1st/2nd.
I actually cared more about ironhide dying, and the bumblebee near-execution scene then i did when optimus "died" in the 2nd  Thought they rushed the actual invasion part though, could of cut the fat with the build up, the end felt rushed. Megatron saving optimus was a real WTH moment, i know it was motivated by him wanting Sentinels spot but surely 2 birds one stone, let sentinel kill optimus then sneak attack sentinel. Ah film villains....you special cases.
