I went to the zoo yesterday and captured some of the true personalities in the animal kingdom.

Finally got to hear a wolf howl (I've only heard coyotes before)

I'm not sure if this was foreplay, a bad breakup, or sibling rivalry, but these otters were fighting the whole time I was there.

This hippo was seriously chewing on that rock. No one know WTH he was doing.


If you can't tell, this is a polar bear's head at maximum zoom. He decided to play dead.


Speaking of dead...this goat did not move in the 4 hours we were there. We assume it was alive.


These guys were actually sleeping. (Yes, including the sea lion on the right.)


This Lorakeet says, "hi".


This one thinks he's batman...or I caught him doing something he shouldn't have.


I actually saw this little guy near Devils Tower, Wyoming in May.

tho not sure why the sleeping chimp amuses you...

the hippo's huge tusks / teeth might have grown too big for the animal's liking,
especially since it lives in captivity, and probably doesn't fight much...

and the goat's head would probably have fallen a lot further if it was dead...

though I understand your concern...

Not amused, really. He was just adorable.
It's possible about the hippo, but he was licking the rock in between chomps. Freakin' weird.
The goat could be experiencing rigor mortise! Maybe...

And Noobert. This is a zoo in the hippie capital of the world. These animals are spoiled and treated well.

That sea lion will have a stiff neck, he'll regret not laying down.

I have to say, that goher, (last pic) seems like ready to attack with some kick ass move

Prairie dogs are like a bigger, more plump squirrel. Both are cute, imo.
A marmot is a groundhog, which is about 3 times the size of a prairie dog and uglier. (Yay google!)
