Like the title says, what great classic TV shows would you like to see remade ?
Tough one as we dont want to spoil memories of classics and childhood favorites but assume the remake would be done right, only updated and using modern tech. Also so we're not remaking stuff only a few years old, pick shows 10 years or older
For me the first 3 that spring to mind are
Blakes 7
Jupiter Moon
Yes Minister

I would like to see The Roughnecks remade.

(The one with Starship Troopers in cartoon form, it was good then as a kid)
And..possibly Beasties.

They never ever ever ever do it well and they always tarnish the name.
Oh wow it's been so long since I last saw that show.
+1

I loved Airwolf
Remakes can go both ways,
Battlestar remake was excellent
Knight Rider remake was crap
For this thread assume the remakes will be a Battlestar's

None. Remakes often fail, with a few exceptions.

"Quantum Leap" and "MacGyver" were fun to watch.
I'd like a remake of "Quantum Leap".

I remember too the ending being all of a sudden and I think that they had planned for another season, but the producers decided to stop it and had to re-edit the final episode, or something. I think you are right, in the finale Sam "leaps" into his own body and if i remember correctly, the AI hologram, aka his friend Al needs to be rescued while the hologram is another person. Anyway, the show was very good and if it would be remade, with the today's technologies and with a very good story, it could be a great show for the new generations.

Macgyver should never be remade unless they clone RDA's younger self and cast him as the lead.
RDA was a very good actor for his character, but how can you know if a new actor wouldn't be as good as him at least? Anyway, these shows were the ones that I enjoyed watching and would love to see them again... besides, Stargate SG1, but it is not that classic, yet.

Also, I didn't mentioned that Macgyver should be remade, but i considered worthwhile to be mentioned among the classics here.

PS. Also, how could I forgot the "A-Team"? Thats another classic, that I enjoyed, though the 2010 movie didn't had the same impact as the series. >.<
PPS. In the 80s they made many great shows... I mean the stories and the plots were very well written and the performance of the actors, really had an impact on the audience... different than the crap they make nowadays.

The problem with macGyver is that the supporting cast is often horrible when compared to today's supporting cast.

God, none. Remakes are, on the whole, abysmal. Why meddle with perfection? This sick need to remake everything to death, which probably originated in the states, is atrocious. The idea of 'Yes Minister' being remade honestly sends chills up my spine. They'd probably cast Ricky Gervais as Humphrey or something equally dire.

While I share your concerns about classics being ruined, I have said several times assume the remakes would be done well, being done well would preclude any involvement by Ricky Gervais.
Also a lot of great shows from our childhoods are to dated for the new generation to enjoy, these remakes are not only for those of us who enjoyed the original but also for the younglings today to have the best of what we had.

Well Thundercats got remade, episode 1 & 2 aired 2 days ago, watched it to see what it was like and was pleasantly surprised.
