the trend fighting aliens is growing a lot in the last 2 years, its a msg to ppl rather then hot theme to earn $. also is misleading cuz i dont believe there will be any fight with aliens , the most probable inavsion of aliens has started by decades turning our atmosphere into a hell and hostpitable for them.

Trailer doesn't look that great tbh.

it has heavy action in earth not like others that some lucky marine head shoot HQ alien

i like the trailer looks like a giant game of battleship where their all trapped within that force field and can't get reinforcements

The day Hollywood makes a movie about a children's game is the day you know they are running out of ideas, or just getting started with horrible movies for the next couple of years.

I saw the trailer, it's meh.

No, hollywood's always made crap movies with one or two good ones added in. They just get more exposure now

Don't forget, War Horse and The Ides of March both look like possible oscar nominees. Hopefully they're as good as they promise to be (which they probably will be).

well what do u excpect from teh Alien theme, we are civilized enough to say fire in the hole so it ll be war a like , kill the bad alien if not the sexy hybrid

I think the next game-to-movie project they should take up is Hungry Hungry Hippos.

I mean, we've already got Rock 'em Sock 'em Robots made into Real Steel. Now Battleship. GIVE ME MAI HIPPOS! Make humans the beads.

Real Steel looks amazing though, and has a viable plot. Battleship? Not so much. Especially with the giant force field..

The only problem I have with Real Steel is that you see the whole movie in the trailer, and the plot line is typical. The only reason to watch it would be the effects (and Hugh Jackman).

What?

There's been a few great alien films but mostly garbage. They just need new ideas rather than recycling the "aliens come for war but we win somehow" plot.

District 9 was very refreshing in that sense.
So was Avatar

Any alien attack earth war films will pretty much always be topped by Independence Day and War of the Worlds.

Can't say I can think of any good alternative story lines.. but im not a film writer so ^.^

all these movies have a certain message which is misleading everyone. if there would be any alien invasion it ll be a slow one and we wont notice it until all is set
