No antivirus free or not is 100 % bulletproof. Most times user itself are responseble for infection, because of wrong PC/MAC usage.

I don't think any AV is "bulletproof". That being said, what FREE AV do you think is the best, and why?

malewarbytes is rigorous. AVG would come next. It depends what you mean by 'free' though because i can get a lot of software 'for free'.
They are all good, its just the user that doesn't bother to update or scan regularly

If u google it u will found out that this are in front but rated differently on different sites:
- Avast
- AVG
- Avira
- Comodo
- Microsoft Security Essentials 1.0 ||U need Windows Licence to get it

cracked Windows doesn't work
I used Avira 1 year ago and didnt like ADS and pop-ups so i switched to Avast with which currently happy
What i like in Avast:
- Has 7 different security
- Task bar Game Mode
- Task bar disable all security
- U can disable all ads
...
I suggest u pick one and see

which makes u happy

Avast everytime
Offtopic but does anyone know how to totally remove Norton ? Uninstalled, deleted all files that can be found and the damn thing still pops up trying to scan and sell itself a year later. Norton the expensive virus that kills other viruses lol

if u use free AV then u shall be careful visiting some sites or exe some cracked files also ist good to use internet sec soft for some more protection. the free av are all at the same lvl what makes them good is the resource consuming, user interaction and scan time.
from licensed i ve used symantec ce , sophos and kav, so far sophos is leading and from free ones the best are those who doesnt drain lot of memory and gives some info about threats.
