Separate Anti-Covert from Attack

I've just been flicking through the entire forum and there are many topics on this.

Hopefully this will be the definitive thread that will finally see the suggestion that anti-covert MUST be made separate to attack implemented.

The basic reasoning is simple - you probably do not wish to carry out an anti-covert mission every time you attack - I know I certainly don't!! (And did I get a shock just after the update, having trained up 20,000 anti-covert agents only to see a huge amount of them killed because I attacked someone for NAQ).

Which brings me on to my next point - anti-covert is extremely unfair for Tauri because they rely on attacking as it is their advantage. So, they have the choice of not training up any anti-covert agents, or they can lose hundreds or thousands of them every time they attack. There are ways around this in that you could only train up anti-covert agents when you want to use them - but this would mean either having lots of uu around (making you a target for raid) or having to untrain other troops to be trained as anti-covert - hence costing naq.

On the other hand, it is brilliant for Asgard because they never attack, instead they just sit back on their shiny grey butts and watch the naq roll in behind their massive defences. So an Asgard can train up anti-covert agents as an when it pleases them, without having to worry about leaving uu in the open or having to untrain anyone.

Bottom line is - anti-covert should be made completely separate to attacks.

OR

You should have the option (a tick box) of whether to include it when attacking.

Please vote on this matter.

PS - I make no apologies for posting another topic on a subject with existing threads - I am usually the first to criticise this - but in this case, for an 'update' that is fundamentally flawed and which the majority seems to dislike, nothing is being done!!

My covert has been going down because people that nessecarily want to destroy my covert are attacking me and therefore hurting me more.

I honestly dont think this is so bad, all you need do is untrain a few covert agents and put them as anti-covert guys until you are done killing, it involves a bit more naq but I cant say I am particularly bothered by this.

Well, I was briefly discussing the idea of something else for Anti-Covert people to do with Wolf359 last night. I vote to have it become an independant entity. I'll go post my suggestion now...

well i feel it should be completely seperate.
but the option to send them thing would be a compromise...

I propose a fourth option. A generic "attack" function, in which you can choose to send either Attack units, Anti-Covert Units, your Mothership, or any combination of these.

I definatly agree with Wolf, but I do like it in a way, I dont get attacked much, and if this suggestion does go along, I have increased my defence anyway now lol

I see your point - but generally when you mass you won't be using anti-covert, therefore you can ignore the tick box.

Okay then - so the two are kept completely separate!

I find it easy to untrain covert, train anti-covert for a mass, then untrain back again because i have a nice income. Many do not have this income and would struggle.

As for the asgard training anti-covert and sitting, well every anti-covert they train is another spy less to protect from sabotage. :)

I think a check box would work the same as the Allow Officers check box, you can either put it always on or always off, then if you wanted to mass a defence you click it off, then if you want to mass spies, you click it on.....simple :)

How about the again button? You can make it so whenever you click again, it opens an attack page with the same options entered/ticked as the last.

its fine as it is, all you need to do is untrain your covert ops then train them up into assasins the once you have massed away there spies untrain them and make them covert ops again :D so this would kinda be a pointless update :? ...
