By the looks of it after a Mod posting he responded to the mod about it and therefore was spamming. There is a section to discuss Mod actions, Les did not use it. Therefore he spammed and was warned.

ok thank you,

perhaps you can let ppl know in future what they are being banned for..
(if you have sent him a forum pm, he wont recieve it until next time he can log in)

had hoped that issue with bannings had been sorted :/

As the mod who gave the last warning has spoken already, I believe this discussion is done unless you or les has another question.

And how do you purpose that we inform banned users as to why they were warned? Chase then down and hand deliver a certified letter explaining everything in great detail? I think I'll abstain from that practice.

Since everyone has a email address registered on the forum that would seem the sensible way to let them know what warnings they have received, who banned them, and how long the ban will last.

Also it must be easier to send a single email than have these discussion thread everytime someone gets banned.

E-Mail adresses of users are not visible to the mods if the user has activated the privacy settings. We have to respect their wish for privacy, thus their email adresses are to stay hidden and not visible to the public including mods.

The length of the ban and the reason for it are noted in the topic Banned Forum Users.

Further, the reason and the length of the ban is included in the "ban note" that appears when a banned user tries to log in.

Reason - 3rd warning

That doesnt really tell you much, warning/ban for what ?

Ban Note ? What is this ?

I was once banned about a year ago and there was no ban note I simple couldnt log in. Is this ban note new ?

On a side note I am curious how we find out what has happened after a report has been made.

I tried to make 2 reports in the last couple of weeks, both said 'post already reported' so I guess others beat me to reporting them.

1) Was an inappropriate picture, a porn picture with naughty bits edited out but still clear what it was, and in faint writing on the picture a webaddress for a porn site

2) Vulgar swear words filtered or masked in a very rude post

How do I find out if the people I tried to report received warnings ?

BTW the reason I question if they were warned is because they are both DDE members

When a banned user tries to log in, a message is shown that states that they are banned from the forum, the length of the ban and the reason for it.

The reason for a ban is usually a 3rd warning.

Usually the banned forum users are not interested in the reason for the ban as it is obvious, but in the reason for their last warning. Unfortunately, they have no access to their private messages when they are banned so the only way for them to find out what they were warned for is to contact any mod on msn or ingame.

If a post breaks a rule and the consequence of breaking the rule is a forum warning, then an user will be warned.

[sarcasm] Except of course they are DDE members. Then the warnings get automatically removed :smt043 [/sarcasm]

As should be obvious from Deni's post, we mods couldn't care less about alliance the offending users belong to.

Give me a break! Why do you think that said member to who you refer to, addressed 2 complaints to the ombudsperson? You are either getting paranoid or senile. ](*,)

oh yeah... i forgot... your gatewars lives revolve around DDE.... thought you said awhile ago that DDE aren't your gods... makes me wonder... :?

You can find out by asking the person that made the post. Whether they tell you or not is up to them. There is no such "rite" to users knowing who has and who hasn't received warnings.
