We've only seen two movies from that era... both of them today, the second one being the sequel of this one here...

some of the older 1930 movies are a bit campy now, but some just have a feel that modern movies cant find. i think some times it has to do with the film stock of the time, and the use of shadow and light which was so important. Ck out the original Frankenstein.....and of course, King Kong

We think we may have seen parts of the frankenstein movie, but it was not enough to get a good feel of it. (good distance away from an old TV in an overly bright room)

They also utilized what sound they had much better back then. not many movies today would have whole sections without any background music...

Strangely I never seen this one, but I have seen the Frankenstein & King Kong originals, they were both awesome, and in both I loved the fact the monsters were the goodies you felt sorry when they are killed by the ignorant savage people.

Has to be said movies of this era have terribly hammy acting, and the effects are shockingly bad compared to what we had even 40 years ago let alone today. But somehow the atmosphere, use of sound, plots & scripts still make them emotive & compelling to watch.
