whats the best way to learn to play this game properly, think I have picked up the farming and raiding side but as for war etc I have no clue at all.

Is it best to join an alliance or is there a way too learn from individuals or us there something cooler out there that I dont know about yet ????

I look at all the top ranked players, ascension levels, covert etc and obviously It doesnt happen overnight but want to be there or there abouts, How can I do it and whats the best way ?

the best way is to find out which way suits you.

A good commander or alliance certainly wont hurt. But we have some rather helpfull people arround here that will be able to answer concrete questions.

Right now the easiest way to get startet is to get down and raid/farm and get yourself into g and r range as soon as you can.

thanks Flavar, right now I have ascended once and was back in the g and r range so only about another year to go.......... with the game broken not been up too much.

Is there any point in raiding when you loose all your units when you ascend, is it best to just raid what you need for ascending ?

Raid a much as you want mate, just before you ascend broker all the uu, naq, AT you don't need for the ascention to someone else you know and they reject the broker after you have completed your ascention, that way you don't lose a thing apart from the bear minimum for the ascention.

ah cool, didnt know you could do that, in the middle of reading through the guides atm, theres loads and I aint even started on the ascended server yet. think I may cry !

Join an alliance like HVE, and they'll show you the ropes better than anyone....best group there is for beginners

You also might want to consider buying a better account - its not necessary, but you can get a lot further on the ascension ladder for very little outlay these days.

I have considered looking at the accounts for sale, some are a bit expensive, reckon most I would go for now is about $40-50 at most till I know I can actually play the game.

I have registered for the HVE forum and once Im around a bit more will consider joining, cant bring much to anyone atm so will wait a bit

Would give you a decent platform, and put you on a lvl where you can actually play the game for fun, rather than working too hard. (Although if you bought that LG there wouldn't be much point ascending it - if you want to ascend all the way, then get the highest ascended lvl you feel you can afford regardless of stats and build it up from there).

Or you can just build one yourself....part of the fun is in the building

I am stuck in two minds, build or buy.... I guess by building I will learn to play more than I would by buying but by buying I would be able to 'play' quicker. Who knows what I will do

Buy, accounts can be dirt cheap...but buy something halfway there...such as a non-Unknown account, something that you can learn the management of resources and farming on a part-time basis inbetween finishing your ascensions

Best ways to learn ?

1) Great Commander who really takes an interest in his/her officer ( not just there for UP bonus ).

2) Good training alliance with training missions/programs, not as good as 1 on1 learning from a CO but next best thing.

3) Dumped in the deep end, you learn fast because it costs you a lot to make the mistakes lol Sink or swim time.


Buy or Build ?

Purely on economics, buying is far cheaper and faster. You dont need $$$$s, you can raid/farm enough resources to trade for a decent account in 3-4 weeks instead of the 46 weeks and insane amount of resources it takes to speed ascend all the way. Im amazed anyone bothers ascending any more.

In order to get experience building has some benefits but really is so heavily out weighed by the costs that not a realistic option.

Also don't forget beta. I don't know if its currently up and running with all the server changes and outages, but its a great way to learn the ropes without screwing up your main account
