How do you feel about the US banning the sale of "French" fries in embassies and other govt places? Since France didn't support the US with regards to Iraq, they started selling freedom fries instead

I think that post was more useless than asking people how they feel about freedom fries. Perhaps that's why you posted it in the temple of venomous growths?

If you can't be bothered by it why waste your time posting?

I think Americans should learn to speak English properly
These are French Fries ( Deep fried flavoured corn snack ), I love the Worcester Sauce flavour )

These are proper chips ( Deep fried chipped potato's ), damn I can almost smell the hot vinegar evaporating and my mouth is watering at the sight lol

These are crisps ( Deep fied thinly sliced potato favoured snack )

These are NOT a real food ( Potato, mashed, shaped, mixed with nasty preservative chemicals and insane amounts of salt, then fried and sold to fat people with low life expectancies )

The rest of the world knows that us Brits biggest contribution to world cuisine is the chip, only Americans seem obsessed with giving the French the credit, makes no sense to me.
Frankly I dont think any nation that cant tell the difference between a Chip, a French Fry & a Crisp should be allowed Nuclear weapons

I think it's the summit of retardedness, ignorance and stupidity to do such thing.
Oh and by the way, French fries that's a mistake, well, at least what the people in the US call french fries! It's Belgian thing...What McDonalds sell are a variety based on the belgium fries. As far as I know, even though it's commonly ate in France, it was first created in Belgium.
For the record, I'm not even Belgian trying to claim property of fries, it's just how it is.

Judging from the looks of the first picture, both are more or less the same. I live in France, and McDonalds fries are very similar to what Léon of Bruxels (a Belgian chain of restaurants) sells, even though the McDonalds ones are bit more industrial.
Oh fat people, really? My BMI is normal, and I often eat McDonalds, you're being wrong there.

The earliest record of frying potato is Belgium but they shallow fried potato cut into fish shapes.
British brought the potato to the UK where oil was already used for cooking, then later to Europe ( they were baked in fires and boiled in water in the native countries potato's came from ).
Chips ( Deep fried 'chipped' potato ) is British, and Fish & Chips is widely recognised as our national dish.
Personally I think the only reason Americans call them French Fries is because they dont like short names for things, and they like to make things sound more fancy than the actually are. The French are famous for quality cuisine so by putting the word French in the name of a food Americans think they can sell more........ marketing BS
Freedom Fries ???? Really ? Are they free ? Does eating them make you free ? What complete.......... tries to think of a fitting word that wont be filtered......... nope there isnt one lol
America has a huge population ( about 370 Mill I think ) and the same % of intelligent people as other nations so the US must have many 10s of millions of intelligent people...... BUT things like this are why the national stereotype applied to Americans around the world is one of big stupid people.
ps BMI doesn't work, it only takes Height & Weight into account, does not account for width or muscle mass or weight distribution. Basically it's pointless and you can better judge someones weight just by looking at them. Also when you are young you are more generally more active and have a faster metabolism, eating crap like McDonalds starts to show more as you age.

First off, the "Freedom Fries" were changed back to "French Fries" in 2005, so they don't exist anymore (technically).
Secondly. McDonald's doesn't sell fries of any sort in America. They change the menu and ingredients in foreign countries, but in America the "fries" are pure **Filtered** and always will be.
Thirdly.
Kicks this thread out of my Spam Temple and into Debate Central, because an 8 yr old news story about something that was repealed 6 yrs ago doesn't meet the qualifications for Intelligent Discussions.
