When did the realm alert names change?

To the pretty ridiculous sounding 'high', 'higher', 'higherest' and 'highesterer'?
Why replace a perfectly good system with one that doesn't imply a proper range of realm alert and also contains two words that don't even exist. Daft.

Maybe I'm just getting old and miserable but I think it's stupid.

The entire realm alert & nox system was revamped, auto-declare war was introduced.
In the course of this update, admin changed the names of the realm alert, initially in jest, but after no one reacted to it and admin got other projects to work on, he forgot.
Of course, no one made a fuss about it. After all, we're not fussing about 'alliance assult' either.
Get on IRC, bring it up at the next meet. Five or six people saying that it'd better be changed back might get him to change it.
Oh well.

I mean, it isn't the end of the world or anything but it just looks completely out of place when everything else in the game is taken quite seriously (or as seriously as things can be in a text based war MMO).
Maybe it's just a bit of OCD kicking in, who knows.
Thanks for the info though J.

I have exactly the same views as Diamond Dust. 100% agree.
Maybe we're both getting old and grumpy?

*grin* Well. The thought itself is not that strange. At some point, you grow out of the OMG's, the LOLs, the WTHs.. I reckon at another point, you grow out of neologisms.

Bring it up at Friday's meet, if you're bugged. I don't think many people care how it's called, as long as they are clear.

I'm very sure there were several people complaining, the posts just got lost in the shuffle because the other updates made at this time obviously had more necessity to talk about.

Sounds reasonable, yes. It got obscured.

I would prefer the percents in the names...
From the guide:
Realm Alert Level Settings/Effects: None/Low/Med/High/Critical have values of 0/10/20/40/70%.
Since only 70% got dropped, you'd have like:
None (0%)
Low (10%)
Med (20%)
High (40%)
Involves less changes in the guide, and mathematically helpful to boot...
gonna go copy & paste in the suggestions thread.

Higherester is a value of 50%.
It goes:
0% / 10% / 20% / 40% / 50%
None wrote:x 1.00 for realm alert set at: 0
None + NOX wrote:x 0.90 for realm alert set at: 0 (and NOX + 10% ontop of that)
High wrote:x 0.90 for realm alert set at: 10
High + NOX wrote:x 0.80 for realm alert set at: 10 (and NOX + 10% ontop of that)
Higher wrote:x 0.80 for realm alert set at: 20

Are you recommending
another level gets cut?

((Damn Dubby for starting a half-baked suggestion thread. Copy Pasted.))
