I propose that instead of simply banning a user, they should also be promoted...


to mod a single topic for 2 weeks - 12 months... all about said banned user.
(in addition to also banning them from the rest of the forums as per normal forum rules and regs.)

one thread per banned user.

We'll keep such threads away from the young, impressionable, optimistic and
happy noobs by putting it in a special section,

the Hall of Banned Users;

where one has to join an open usergroup to see it, or post there...
with an appropriate warning of likely vulgar contents.


I think most banned users will gladly mod their own topic, and post in each other's topics for one simple reason:

I think most banned users like to hear and see themselves talk...
plus all the attention they can get, even negative attention,
more then most people like chocolate.

as I think I was concerned and strangely intrigued by the possibilities of such a reality element...


Mostly I was going after the idea of:

here, try on my job of modding people like you silly users day in and day out...

but in a tightly sealed section, where the rest of us wouldn't have to put up with them...

and the haz-mat they bring.

the idea of having mikgamer and harchester and dark lord trying to mod each other is at least as...

much of a guilty pleasure...


... but then I actually looked through the official announcement
list of forum users to receive a ban...

and some *seem to have* matured rather nicely after one or more bans...

(others, not so much.)
