SGW's true Origins

So, up came a debate. Mostly from a signature I've seen from a player I won't name but one which you'll probably find out for yourself or know if you've seen the signature that claims to have been playing SGW since 2003! Fancy that! Upon question, the player says that s/he was playing 'beta' all this time before the actual release of the game in 2005.
Ok, I'd LOVE to be proved wrong here as it'll be complete news to me so someone please tell me that GW's existed for two years prior to Jan '05.

Stargatewars? Not TimesofConquest or one of Jason's other games?
As far as I'm aware, it was released in 05 - I highly doubt it would spend years in beta...especially given how buggy and ridiculously easy it was to cheat in the early days

Its been to long! I honestly can't remember... lol. I guess it was in 05... depressing.
Edit:
I remember being around when the mothership and planets were first introduced...when was the date of that?

Ok then. When was the first huge update when the game first started going to hell.
The millions of naq upgraded to billions for the faster pace game play.

Mothership was late 05, planets were later...game was released in the beginning of Feb 2005.
I told said person about this when they were making their signature...
There was a beta though if memory serves (I didn't play it), so maybe that started in 04...

Take a look at Quantum wars..
28 era x 3 months = 84 months
84Months / 12(1year) = 7 years
2011 - 7 years = 2004
Quantum Wars started after Main server was made...it also had some down time between waves
The game was officially open on Feb 2004
There was no Mothership, only 4 races
People were farming for 10k naq (consider 2tril+ nowadays)
Live chat never existed
Barely an official update page

nah you lot are wrong, it started 2004.
We are wave 28 for quantum, 3 months per wave (plus a day or 2 for reset), that's 7 yrs ago for when wave 1 of quantum would be running.
Plus i started in Nov 2005 myself and began my 1st quantum wave (wave 4) shortly after, plus my id was 42053 meaning over 42k accounts made before mine.
So 100% for sure SGW went live AT LEAST in 2004, if i am not mistaken feb 2004, meaning yes there was a beta of the game up in 2003.

Sigh...
Psi kiya trist joined the forums the DAY before the game was released...

Third person on the forums. Not all quantum waves lasted three months. I've been in waves that didn't work that lasted one month or two weeks...a couple lasted two months instead of three...I was in the first wave of quantum when I joined the game in Spring 05 since I played quantum before I played main.
My main id was 12759 and that's from April 14th, 2005. Check the anniversary thread for more information:

The forums were not made at the time the game went live though Mathlord. I believe they came something like a year later. ETL would be able to confirm.
Sorry SS but just add up 28 waves of quantums at 3 months each, 2004 for sure quantum was in wave 1.

Because you were around in 2005? Were you in school in 2005

Back in 05, I was on AOL dial-up internet. I had to get ip exceptions with random people across the state too lol
