Well, we wont bother mentioning any of those taken here before, but we rather like this one:
Settlers of Catan
We've got it with two large and four minor expansions, all in a custom box.

Had to Google this one, never heard of it before but I found a great instruction ( plus online playable version ) and it looks pretty good

Never played Settlers of Catan, played the space version though, that was pretty fun

I'm much more of a card shark, but board games are fun, too...when I can get an opponent.
Scrabble, Clue, and Backgammon are probably the three most played by me. Though I mostly play Scrabble by myself, as not many of my friends or family have spelling abilities. Close seconds are Monopoly, Life, and Chess (so out of practice with that last one).

We've never tried Starfarers of Catan, but we guess it is fairly similar in many ways.
Settlers is an excellent game and highly recommended. It does take some time, though. Especially when playing with 6 players and all the expansions.
