I expect this one will show a big generation difference, what music formats do you own, and in what quantities ??



My approximate figures are

Vinal Albums - 20+ ( All tucked away in the attic )

Vinal Singles - 50+ ( All tucked away in the attic )

Cassettes - 150+ ( All tucked away in the attic )

CD Singles - None

CD Albums - 250+ ( Still in use )

MP3s tracks - 300+ ( Rarely used after burning to CD )




So for me mostly CDs

Cassettes - threw most out, probably got a few lurking around

CD Albums - 300+, probably more, but since I copied them to itunes, not seen them in a while

MP3 Tracks - A few, but I rarely buy much music nowadays....(don't illegally download either, just haven't bought much)

Cd's

20+ cassettes left (more than 30 probably, half of these being "official" ones, not recorded ones)
Over 100 CDs probably (most being not recorded ones but the "official" ones from solo artists/groups/compilations).
Over 35 CD singles.
Many MP3s, dumped many of those I didn't obtain legally.

One vinyl. (collectors copy of an album I have on cd and adore)
Probably nearing a hundred or so CD's now? Collection keeps on growing with all the limited edition preorders I snap up as they come up...

Mp3's/FLAC? Tens of thousands. OOPS. Probably need to sort through them all sometime. lol.

Looking through our files, we found a bit under 200 mp3's. less than 10 of those that we've listened to within the last 10 months or more. all of those when looking for a decent audio file to use as cell phone ring tone. Most of them even more time has passed since we listened to.

Cds: none.
LPs: none.
other: none.

We do not usually listen to music. (isnt that scary?)
or mostly. We filter music as background noise. (unless it is a part of a movie or a game)
We do on occasion hear live concerts, but they too generally go as background noise.
