is there any value in increasing Influence Power, its not something I've taken into consideration before.. does it really help in any way?:

To start, I am not really sure what Influence does on Ascended...

My best guess is that it affects the rank modifier, and it might be the primary variable.

I have no concrete ideas of any advantage to having a larger influence...

although there is one possibility:
if your primary goal is to hit or spy or GQ people well above your rank or your planet count,
or both.

Mostly, I think it is a disadvantage...

I shall post some of my own Ascended Stats to assist in this discussion, along with time stamps,
which are important because the numbers often change after a Turn Change,
and also because I build and unbuild frequently in the course of farming.


Please notice how a lot of the numbers line up really close to a 1,000x relationship...
I have not discounted the possibility that this REALLY is all rocket science...


Example 1:
from my Cosmic Expansion Training Page:
GameTime: Dec 05 22:09.19
Rank: 4,116
14,414,401,741 / 14,414,418,190 is my estimated planet total...
the second number is from a different Cosmic Training Page 3 minutes later...
same rank, same turn.

the exact figure is probably the lower figure, hopefully unobscured by rounding in Admin Jason's code...


Example 2:
from my Introspective Page:

GameTime: Dec 05 22:29.29
Rank: 4,117

Physical Realm Development
Your Physical Expanse 14,415,118,190 Planets
Your Influence Power 14,415,155,406,000



AND... same 4,117 rank, same turn.

From my Realm's Base Page:

GameTime: Dec 05 22:32.20
Rank: 4,117

Influence Power 14,415,155,406,000 Ranked 727
Cosmos Rank 14,415,118,190 4,117

Note that they are during the same Turn, and I don't believe they change in the middle of a turn...
or this would get a lot stranger...

I shall try to make sense of all this in my dreams...

influence power is primarily based on planet count and charisma. It only contributes half of its rank towards your overall rank. So it might be worth having a better use for it suggestions?

it creates minor bumps in the road...
keeps things from getting too predictable...

So part of me likes the mysteriousness of some ascended calculations...
